Finally homebound! Last flight for this trip. Quick layover in Paris as I transit to the international departures terminal. Really sad that this holiday is over but I had a great time.

The Paris airport logo. Very artistic in my opinion.

The walk from the short-haul terminal to the international departures.

After crossing immigration, you'll arrive straight into a large duty-free shopping area and a large lounge area as well. It's pretty comfortable in general and there are power outlets all over. Do bring your own travel adapters though.
photo IMG_2483

The international departures terminal. I love the great open concept which makes the whole place very airy and not claustrophobic.
photo IMG_2484

The gate we will be departing from today. This flight will be heading all the way to Jakarta with a stopover in Singapore, which will be the end of my journey.
photo IMG_2485

A long queue forms as boarding begins. As per usual, Flying Blue premium members, SkyTeam Elite members, SkyPriority passengers and First(La Première) and Business class passengers are boarded first before the regular folks. I found it strange that the queue didn't form within the queue stands but outside of it.

After the boarding pass are scanned, we can finally head into the plane.

A close-up of the Air France 777 in the new livery. The plane is really such a beauty. It's probably my favourite plane in the world.

The half-cabin of the first economy cabin, immediately behind the premium economy cabin.
photo IMG_2498

The rear economy cabin. 10-abreast in 3-4-3 configuration. This is the new cabin product being offered by Air France. It's a new slim line seat introduced as part of their fleet renewal.
photo IMG_2499

A look at the new economy class seat. I was glad as the middle seat was not occupied and my mother and I had a very comfortable flight ahead on this red-eye flight.
photo IMG_2500

A look at the new entertainment system. It's fully touch screen with no remote or handsets in sight. The armrests are bare and all connections are on the screen. A single 3.5mm headphone jack and a illuminated USB port. The IFE system was up and running and I was able to start on my movies as soon as I was on board. The new 9 HD screen was a delight and a great improvement from the previous generation of IFE systems on other planes. I liked that the headset jack was in the front as it made moving in and out of the seat easier. It might bother some people but the screen doesn't move although viewing angles are fantastic throughout and I wouldn't find it a problem.

A close-up of the IFE menu. Reminds me of Android's material design. Sleek and beautiful.

The amazing new flight information system. The amount of detail is amazing and so detailed!

Dinner meal. I chose the chicken option. No pictures of the meal because none of it came out right. The food is pretty good though. The bun was really nice and they even offered a second serving. The chicken was nice and the mashed potatoes was good. The ratatouille was excellent. The chocolate tart was the best part of the meal. Dark chocolate was rich and delicious. The fresh orange was a nice touch.
photo IMG_2547

Carried on watching movies till I had to visit the loo. At the galley near the tail of the plane, there were carts placed with self-service snacks and drinks. Had my fill of ginger ale and chocolate cookies!

A view of the toilet aboard the new Air France cabin. Very big and spacious.

Breakfast is served somewhere over Northern Thailand. Omelette and a tomato reduction. The breakfast is plain and simple although I though the omelette tasted strange.

On final approach into Changi! It's almost the end of the flight.

Disembarkation from the massive beast. It will be cleaned up and restocked before heading on to Jakarta.

Conclusion

I love the new seats on-board Air France. It is extremely comfortable despite its slim line structure and the new HD screens were a joy to watch. The crew very very professional and moved about the cabin frequently to make sure the passengers were okay. I believe this new cabin is also being rolled out on KLM 777s and I highly recommend it.

Thank you for taking the time to share this series with us!

Your nighttime shots in CDG make it look very flattering.

I was glad as the middle seat was not occupied and my mother and I had a very comfortable flight ahead on this red-eye flight.
    - Very fortunate to get that breathing room in this cramped cabin. I like the look of the cabin, the subtle accents on the seat and the pillow cover are both fresh updates to AF. The IFE also looks good.

    my current favourite artist, Perfume!
    - We got a Japanese fan :)

The dinner tray looks very full even if we can't see under the covers. The orange is a strange addition to the tray, but I think I would have preferred the normal fruit cut that isn't so messy to eat on a plane.

I though the omelette tasted strange.
    - It also looks strange, but a hot meal is nice pre-arrival.

Overall, it looks like you had a very good flight with AF and concludes a series where you got to try three different European ST carriers, which is always nice.

    Thanks for sharing this FR.

Nice shots of the airport and cabin.

Having an empty seat makes a world of a difference. The Y cabin looks tight with that configuration.

Your meal looks decent. I think AF is the only airline that provides a fruit on the tray in Y on long haul flights. Did you find ice cream and sandwiches for snacks in the galley as well?

Even if I don't like the 3-4-3 abreast configuration, it seems thay you had a comfortable flight.
And having an empty seat between your mother and you is definitely a good point.
New PTV is a major improvement.
    Thank you.

Thank you for sharing this FR! Enjoyed reading it :).

Cabin seems to be fresh and clean, a nice first impression.

That PTV is very modern looking and sleek! Love the look of it.

Catering on this flight seems to be great even though we can't see the cover of the first meal.

Thanks for this FR on the new cabin.

Glad to see they made for a pleasant experience even if it remains in 3-4-3.

Thanks for sharing this beautiful and detailed report on AF's new Y cabin. I am also a fan of the 77W; it really is a beautiful aircraft. I am not a fan of the 3-4-3 configuration on 77Ws, however. With a middle seat free like you got, it is perfectly comfortable, but otherwise it is incredibly tight. One thing AF is good with is the aesthetic of cabins--they always come out with cabins that look visually appealing and this new cabin, from La Premiere, to Business, to Premium Economy, to Economy all look very fresh and modern. The IFE looks awesome and I really love the new airshow! Thanks for sharing and I look forward to your next reports!

I was glad as the middle seat was not occupied and my mother and I had a very comfortable flight ahead on this red-eye flight.
Great to have a free seat

These new seats with a nice IFE are a real enhancement

The dinner looks great way better than KL's

The fresh fruit is a good idea

Thanks for all these reports and I hope to see you soon for another journey

The seats look nice but the cabin seems crowded overall. Catering looked OK. IFE looks like a big improvement.
