After spending two amazing weeks in London it came the time to come back to Rome London has always a special fashion for me and especially this time I visited fantastic places, enjoyed many evenings in clubs and discos and met nice people.
That's the itinerary: 24th July Rome CIA - London STN (here) 7th August London STN - Rome CIA (you are here)
I left my residence in Russel Square in the morning and I headed to King's Cross-St. Pancras Railway Station where Terravision bus leaves Since I had a couple of hours before taking the bus I waited inside King's Cross station which has a very interesting architecture Close to me there was the famous Platform 9&3/4 from Harry Potter world I wanted to take a picture with the famous trolley but the queue was about 40 minutes :( maybe next time King's Cross Station's concourse
Around 12:30 I took the Terravision bus to STN and in one hour I arrived at the airport The ride was quite calm and relaxing
The entrance to the Terminal
The bright and wide check-in hall of the Terminal designed by Norman Foster
I proceed to the self check-in desk equipped with a weighing scale for the baggage I wasn't able to continue because my bag was reported to be heavier than allowed therefore I went to the desk A very kind lady told me that I had to remove about 1,4 kilos from the baggage. London shopping opportunities doesn't match good with Ryanair weight limits ahaha After removing some stuffs (I had to throw in the rubbish bin a old pair of trousers!) I finally checked-in and went through security In about 10 minutes I was airside Departure board As it happens in London airports the gate won't have been showed until 50 minutes before boarding
The duty free immediately after security
The Dante's Inferno ehm waiting area where ALL the poor passengers were waiting for their destinies ehm gates
After having lunch my gate was showed to be 44 It could be reached just walking and it doesn't require to take the shuttle
The apron with EZY and FR planes
The Terminal
Walking to the gate
My Gate, 44
The boarding started ontime and we boarded by stairs The bird for today
After giving the trip report form to the Purser I took my seat Neighbors
Construction site for a future Satellite?
Taxiing to the runway was one of the shortes I've ever experienced
Goodbye London…hope to see you soon
The effects of London nights made me sleep before crossing the Channel I woke up crossing the Alps…welcome back to Italy
Mount Soratte, with his particular shape, in northern Lazio It is famous to be the protagonist of one of the Odes by Latin poet Horace
Even if I don't like to fly FR we started the best part of every flight to CIA…the descent over Rome :D Prima Porta's cemetery
Great Ring Junction with San't Andrea's Hospital, 2 km from my home
My neighborhood in the northern part of Rome
Olympic Stadium and Foro Italico
From left St. Peter's Basilica, Prati's neighborhood and Auditorium Music Park
Hearth-shaped Villa Borghese park
Termini railway station, Colosseo and Vittoriano (Altar of the Fatherland). In the background there is also Circo Massimo and FAO's headquarter (the white huge building above Colosseo)
St. Giovanni's Basilica
Final moments
R(H)ome Sweet Home
Last view of the plane from the paxbus
The queue for the passport control was quite short and the baggages arrived in a decent time
I found my parents waiting outside and I went finally to home See you next report
