After a few days in Izmir, sunny but very cold, it's time to get back to London, with a transfer in IST Atatürk
A last glance at the old 19th century houses with enclosed balcony
Early morning, I take a "metro" at downtown Alsançak station, 30 minutes and 0,40€ later I arrive at Adnan Menderes airport The train seems new, so do the airport station and air terminal
I go thru a first security check to get out of metro station and walk on to the air terminal
I'm just fascinated by the architecture, forms and volumes
Another pax and luggage security check to enter check in area
Not that busy
I could check in on line for the return flights, so I can avoid business line at check in, but it was not that crowded
Still, easier that way
And then comes the third security check, this time as in any airport, between check in desks and boarding areas
Then comes the long long corridor with here and there a deep view on lower spaces, so huge volumes.
Thanks for invitation
Steep way down; didn't I tell you there were huge volumes? See the hostess desk downstairs? The double lounge is all along the right hand side on both sides of the desk
I step into the right hand lounge; absolutely empty, and choose a seat, vey quiet area since I'm alone.
Let's have a look at the buffet; it looks nice and fresh, but I had a big breakfast so my selection is very simple.
But there was enough to nibble
And to drink, but don't ask me about alcoholic drinks, it's absolutely not my cup of tea if I can say so
So I have my snack I drink …and …
No it's not dirty at all, just scale I think
A last glance
Another one
It's now close to boarding time and the lounge is getting busy
A pax bus gives us a ride to the very end of the terminal; we enter a sort of tower connected to the jetway, a lift, then the jetway, then the plane.
A few pictures
In the jetway
All FA seem busy when I step into the aircraft but I know where my seat is. Do you remember it's 2B?
Same aircraft as for the inbound flight
Some glance back
Look at the carpet and seat cover; looks brand new or newly refurbished aircraft
Very quickly a delicious drink is offered
The screen

Drinks
FA takes drink order
Push back and take off on schedule, and once airborne, lunch is served; a tray, no cart
Delicious mezze; I don't eat dessert because I do not like white chocolate and also because I prefer to try the offer of IST lounge of which I've heard so much praise
But best things have to come to an end
Last picture of the empty cabin
Parking at large and paxbus to the terminal; yes this was supposed to be a picture of the bus!…
And now let's follow the trail; on my way I notice there is a priority transfer corridor for connexions less than one hour; a very interesting option when required.
So, see you soon at the international terminal for the end of the story
Thanks for reading; as a reward for your patience here is a short bonus
