In October 2010 I went to China on the island of Sanya for the Miss World 2010 contest. My trip was PPT-AKL-SYD-CAN-SYX-CAN-NRT-PPT.

Here is the Auckland-Sydney flight report flown on LAN Airlines.

I had arrived the night before in New Zealand on the Air Tahiti Nui flight. I had spent the night in a hotel near the airport and very early the next morning I went to the airport to check in on my flight LA 801.
As I was the first at the airport, I was checked-in very quick, bags sent to Sydney. I then went to the upper level to go through immigration and security and enter the international zone. Yet everything was still close and I waited a little before going through.

After all the checks were done I went to the Qantas lounge to wait for the departure of my LAN flight.

After 1 hour waiting in the lounge for our departure, we were invited to board the Airbus 340-300 CC-CQF that had arrived from Santiago de Chili and will finish it's run of the day in Australia before going back to Chile via Auckland.
Here is the very confortable LAN seat.

For the welcome drink I request a glass of water. Here is what the seat pocket contains, inflight magazines, safety card…

The cabin for this 3h40 minute flight is nearly empty in Business Class.

Before take-off, safety demonstrations are shown in spanish and in english.

The climb over New Zealand before the Tasman Sea crossing.

For Breakfast I choose the cold plate with turkey ham, slices of cheese and avocado. Fresh fruit salad and bread rolls.

The flight goes by quickly, the seats are really comfortable and I have time to have a short nap.

In the mean time the sun has risen and we are starting the descent towards Sydney.

Conclusion

A short flight on a route I know well as I have flown on nearly all the airlines flying the AKL-SYD-AKL apart from Air New Zealand and Aerolineas Argentinas.

LAN is an excellent airline with a great service. The cabin crew was OK, nothing exceptional.

The seat is really comfortable though.

Cette cabine donne vraiment l\'impression d\'offrir beaucoup d\'espace à chaque passager ( et l\'on ne termine pas avec les jambes allongées dans le siège du voisin de devant ). L\'IFE également à l\'ai de bonne taille ....
Tout ceci m\'a l\'air très agréable ....

Le service à bord est très correct mais désastreux au sol comme j\'en avais fait l\'amère expérience 2ans auparavant: au départ de puerto montt j\'avais fait remarquer aux personnels de l\'enregistrement que le temps de correspondance était trop juste en effet nous n\'avions que 45 mn pour prendre le vol pour l \'ile de Paques.J\'ai demandé une assistance car nous étions 3 passagers en affaire et ils ont refusé.Arrivée à SCL j\'ai hélé des gens de Lan pour qu\'ils nous aident et personne tout le monde s\'en fichait.On nous a envoyé vers les comptoirs de l\'immigration international pour nous faire refouler car il s\'agissait d un vol domestique et international(continuation pour PPT).Heureusement que le vol nous a attendu!!! J ai envoyé un feedback mais n\'ai jamais reçu de réponse. 2011-07-29 11:28:09

Merci encore pour ce FR, très interessant de voir LAN de nouveau sur les sites après les 3 FR sur la liaison temporaire CDG - MAD.

C\'est clair que la cabine est agrèable, grand écran, enorme pitch, pour le petit dej, c\'est leger mais je crois qu\'il y avais aussi un plat chaud de proposer?

Dommage pour les personnels de LAN, j\'ai l\'impression que les hispanophones ne sont pas fait pourle service. 2011-07-29 11:54:18

Il y avait le choix entre soit le plat chaud, soit cette assiette froide. J\'ai préféré l\'assiette froide car je ne suis pas un fan des oeufs en général et encore moins dans un avion.

La cabine était en effet très agréable, beaucoup d\'espace et le siège très confortable mais je suis peut être tombé sur un équipage qui n\'était pas au meilleur de ses capacités mais bon, je n\'ai pas été impressionné.
