Having spent sometime in Miami for Carnival, it was time to head back up to the cold north. AA had scheduled their 777s between CLT and MIA in recent times so I couldn't resist. A CRJ 900 was operating the CLT- YYZ routing which can be seen here.
After arrival from MIA, we walked over to the Canadian departure gate area. Here, COVID paperwork is checked before anyone is allowed to board. Unfortunately, we missed the 72 hour timeframe for COVID tests as the time is in reference to the last departing flight on tickets to Canada. As a result, we were moved to a flight 6 hours later, in order to facilitate retesting at a centre 30 minutes from the airport.
Since I had some hours to spend, I did some spotting.
Aircraft: Bombardier CRJ-900
Registration: N37508
Age: 3.3 Years
Layout: C20Y159
Lucky to have scored an exit row.
Window view before pushback.
Takeoff from RWY 36R.
As most of the flight was at night, there wasn't much to see.
Below is our final descent into YYZ.
A quiet apron awaits as we arrive.
On a positive note, when deplaning RJs at T3, we get a great view of the apron.
AA offered the average basic service as anywhere else in the US. Though having to miss our flight, I enjoyed plane spotting at CLT as the time passed. CLT has expanded their amenities offering as the airport just completed an expansion.
Thanks for reading this short report.
