My experience in flying after a long time was taking one of the busiest routes in Brazil. The route Rio de Janeiro - São Paulo, but via the international airport of Galeão (GIG), to the international airport of Guarulhos (GRU).

First, It is impressive to see how an airport that was once the gateway to Brazil in the 1980s and was expanded for the 2016 Olympic Games is now abandoned, with few flights.

The old terminal opened in the late 1970s, today, it is abandoned without any type of use. The terminal 2, where today the domestic and international check-in is located, is also underused. Passengers prefer to use Santos Dumont Airport as it is located in the central area of the city. But this causes a series of problems for the city. The SDU does not have the capacity to serve everyone comfortably, as there is no possibility of expanding. GIG only has a few flights that cannot be operated on the SDU, and as a result, it has suffered from an emptying of international flights, due to the lack of connections.

For me, that was good on this day, because in addition to Galeão being closer to my house, I didn't have any problems with delays in queues at the security check. The Check in had already been done online.

The flight was 100% full, and we took off exactly on time. The weather didn't help much this day, as we had a big cold front covering the entire route. For this reason, we did not have on-board service, as we had moderate turbulence throughout the flight.

For me, the legroom is always small, as I am over 1.80 meters. But the flight was only 1 hour.

It is always interesting to see an approach in São Paulo, with the immensity of the city that seems to have no end. Even with rain.

Guarulhos airport is considered the reason for taking flights from Galeão, as in addition to being very close, São Paulo generates much more traffic (of all types) than Rio.

An average expirience, with a high fare (for brazilian people).
