Welcome back to this series following my journey home for spring break. After getting off my first flight with Singapore Ailrines, it's time to explore and rest in one of the world's best airports: Changi Airport. I have an eleven hour layover before getting on my flight home, which is enough time to explore both of SQ's lounges while doing some errand shopping in between. Since most of the stores open at 6 AM (which is already relatively early, even for an airport), I decided to get some shut-eye at the SilverKris Lounge at T3. At around 5 AM, I decided it was time to transfer to Terminal 2, which is still in the midst of renovation works. Though more dated and less private than its T3 counterpart, the T2 Lounge still does its job. There's plenty of seating, though there doesn't seem to be a lot of spaces where you can do work.

The buffet was similar to that of the T3 lounge as well, offering Indian, Asian, and Western staples.

Soup seems to be a staple of every Asian lounge, and I'm not just talking about any kind of soup. The Mabuhay Lounge of Philippine Airlines has Arroz Caldo, the ANA Lounge has ramen and udon, and even Cathay's Business Lounges have noodle bars. Singapore Airlines has its very own Laksa as its mainstay in the lounge. Laksa is basically a noodle dish with a spicy and slightly tangy coconut broth, which is then topped with fish balls and prawns. In the Terminal 3 Lounge, the staff will be happy to plate one for you, but here it's a DIY station. It still tastes good though!

There's also a variety of fruits and beverages. Essentially it's the same selection as the T3 Lounge.

The shower rooms at the T2 Lounge. They're mostly available especially during this time (it was daytime when I visited).

The toilets were also clean and spacious.

After a few hours in the lounge, it was time to enter the gate. It was a rookie mistake for me to have left the lounge too early though since gates don't usually open until an hour before boarding.

A quick look at today's plane, a 737-8, which will take us home today.

After a while, it was time to enter the plane. This plane was initially from its subsidiary SilkAir prior to merging with Singapore Airlines in 2020. The 737-8s like this aircraft were then refurbished with the new product, though the aging 737-800 NGs are left with the recliner seats in Business Class and were also not refitted with IFE. The seat feels a little small, but I guess it's normal for narrow bodies. At least the seat is fully flat!

Here's the flight path for today's flight. SQ 906 is essentially a triangular route (one of the rare ones that SQ operates) from SIN to DVO and onto CEB. We'll be covering the DVO-CEB and CEB-SIN routes on my way back.

Welcome drinks were soon offered with a choice between water, orange juice, champagne, and Bellinis. I took the latter.

Here's the look at the menu for today.

I only covered the meal for this report, but you can refer to my previous report for the wines. I used the Book-the-Cook service for this flight, which the stewardess confirmed as she took my drink order.

Noise-cancelling headphones similar to the previous flight were placed on the seatback pouch. They worked well for me.

A closer look at the side panel: reading light, USB charging cable, and the headphone jack.

Soon enough, we were airborne. Here's another view of the seat. Luckily no-one was beside me for this flight.

Soon later, lunch was served (it was referred to as a light lunch, but is there a difference anyways?). Notably, it was served in one tray perhaps due to the length of this flight. It still looked very elegant. Here's my main of choice, the Roast Rack of Lamb, together with the starter (scallops with lemon labneh) and the dessert (a honey semolina cake). I had pineapple juice to go with my meal as I was scared to be drinking when I'd be home in a few hours. Anyways, the lamb was excellent and did not have any hint of gaminess to it. I also liked the starter (which was surprising since it wasn't a salad) and the dessert. I forgot to take a picture of the bread selection from which I took the garlic bread which tasted buttery.

After the meal, I was glad to hear that fruits and cheese were on offer. I took the cheese plate together with a cup of Vanilla Bourbon Tea. I should have bought a box of the tea, it's sold out when I tried searching online. I liked the accompaniments on the cheese platter as well. It was a great end to my meal.

After my meal, I watched a Korean Variety show called Running Man. Sadly, they only had one episode loaded.

I also visited the lavatory. It was well-stocked with Penhaligon's amenities.

I'd say that this flush button is unique, to my eyes at least.

The plane circled around Davao for quarter of an hour due to heavy rain, but soon enough we landed into DVO. Quarantine and immigration was quick since SQ 906 is usually one of the only two daily international flights (sometimes it's even the only international flight).

Soon enough I was landside, and that marks the end of my Flight Report. I'll be back to cover the return flight and to finish some of my backlogs as well! See you around!

As always, it was a pleasant flight overall. Though it was a regional flight, the service was still warm and efficient, with the catering being one of the highlights of this flight. I hope this level of consistency can be kept by SQ in future flights.

The simple fact of reading about Singapore Airlines is already a pleasure. Everything looks great. And you had no neighbor this time! That's lucky.

I'd say that this flush button is unique, to my eyes at least.

Do I have sight problems? I can't understand the pictogram!

So, welcome home! And thanks for sharing! :D
