Review of Cathay Pacific flight Hong Kong → Tokyo in First

Hello! This is my first review on this site, and this was my first trip after the three years COVID-19 pandemic. Many things have changed for the past three years. I guess we should cherish the moment and chance we can go on the sky. 

For the three years period, I have accumulated enough miles and before they get expired, i finally get an chance to step in the cabin of first class, to fly to Haneda, Tokyo. It was also my first time to visit the lounge and the first class cabin. 
  

I got an early flight to Japan, and the sky was still dark when i arrived at the airport. Cathay Pacific has another type of kiosks for first class passenger. It took around 5 minutes for me to get the boarding pass, as there was not a lot of people at that moment.  Oh! It was my first first-class boarding pass! It was also fast to pass through the security, as that time the traffic was not yet fully recovered after the three years pandemic period.

It was still very early after passing through the security counters. At that moment, there were two lounges running by Cathay Pacific and they were opened, and so I decided to visit all of them.

The first lounge that I have visited is The Pier Business Class Lounge, which is located near gate 65 or something. My boarding gate was gate 5. It seems a long way to go, so i decided to take the little train inside the airport to save some time. 

 

Lounge Experience

The staff greeted me politely. Hearing that I would like to visit another lounge, they made a chop on my boarding pass, after collecting the invitation card. Personally I quite like this class, as the atmosphere was relaxing, the color was warm. During the breakfast time, still you can find something to eat at the lounge. I picked the Chinese Wuntun noodles, some dimsum and the fried noodles for my breakfast. They were alright. It was also great to enjoy the signature drink of Cathay Pacific - The Cathay Delight, while watching the sky gradually turned brighter and brighter, with the airplanes standing by waiting for passengers, on a comfortable sofa seat in front of the large window.

After relaxing for some while, i decided to visit the another lounge. 

This time, i need to walk back to gate 5. At the middle of my walking trip, i made a short visit to the bridge at the hong kong airport - a bridge connecting the satellite terminal with the main terminal . you could see a nice terminal view there. During the walk, I made some random shots of planes. There was even some glass floor on that bridge, so you could see the ground. if you are lucky enough, you could see planes passing under you .

Afterwards, i made a visit to the second lounge - the wing first class lounge. i suppose that because of the limited amount of lounge opening during that time, this lounge was shared with business class passengers at that time. as it was so close to the immigration, just right after you pass through the security and immigration counters, there was a quite a lot of visitors at that moment. The lounge itself is not that big, and i have already enjoyed the breakfast at the pier business lounge, so i decided to have a seat and enjoyed my coffee only at this lounge. I love the pier lounge more, as it looks warmer, and felt more comfortable. But still you can find many seats and quieter corner in this lounge, for you to relax before the flight.

There were two rounds of welcome drink when you on board, the first one should be something like fruit tea. it is sweet but not too sweet, and i quite love that. you may pick the second one and i chose the champagne one.
 

The FA greeted me politely, and probably i was still a little bit tired. my brain is not functioning and forgot that the airport near tokyo city center is called Haneda. LOL

FA: Hello Mr CHAN, welcome aboard, this flight will bring you to Haneda, what kind of drink do you want to have first?
Me: Haneda??? :O :O :O Isn’t that the flight will be landed in Narita?
FA: Is Haneda. :O :O :O
Me: Oh, I guess I am too tired and mixed up -_-. Yea, may you please give me a glass of champagne please?
FA: Ar, Sure Sir. “:) 

afterwards, the FA distributed with the free Wifi information. For first class passenger, you could enjoy the wifi during the flight, after the take off time and before the landing time. 

 

It was my first time for me to enjoy the first class seat, so i took a while to explore the features at the seat. The small remote was a touch screen one and it could be used as a secondary monitors to display flight information or something else. There is no overhead compartment above the seat, but still you can find a lot of storage space located after the TV monitor at each seat, right next to you, or under the seat. 

  And it is time for the breakfast time. Personally i quite like the water, with salt and some herbs added, bringing you an refreshing taste of the drink. There are three dishes of the breakfast. To start, you have the warm bakery and fresh fruit. Next you would have the Vanilla yoghurt with strawberries, blackberries and nut. finally you could have a choice and i picked for the chinese selection - dim sum selection and the congee. They are alright. 
 

it is always a nice experience of enjoying the Cathay Delight on the sky.

 

Time runs fast, and after passing through the Mount Fuji (remember to pick the A side so that you would have a chance to take the photo of this mountain when you fly from Hong Kong! ) and have a look at the Yokohama city, it is time to arrive Tokyo

For the first day of arriving at Tokyo , i just went shopping and prepare my trip to Hokkaido, to have fun in the snowy white environment. it was also my first time to see snow falling and have so much fun at the snow. So i did not take many photos on the date of arrival, but i still visited one of the observation deck at tokyo, to enjoy the wonderful night scenery of tokyo city, with the tokyo tower view.
