Introduction

Had a fun 5 days in Phuket but it's time to go home now. I haven't been to Phuket for years so it's nice to see it again although after the pandemic, the locals are still recovering.

check-in

SQ uses Row H for check-in. Seems like the flight will be full so there was a long queue to check-in.

Boarding pass for this sector today.

The rest of the airport is comparatively quieter. SQ also uses Row F but for the earlier flight.

photo img_4248

Nothing much around so time to head airside.

Airside

HKT is pretty busy as well now.

photo img_4254

Duty-free shopping and F&B outlets dot the entire terminal airside.

Boarding seemed like a two-step process. After checking boarding passes, we were guided to another holding area on the lower floor.

photo img_4262

After which we were then allowed to board after 15 minutes. Maybe there was a miscommunication and the plane just wasn't ready.

On-board

Making my way down the aisle.

Again, I decided to visit the lavatory before the flight to avoid the crowd.

photo img_4268photo img_4269

I boarded early so the other passengers weren't here yet.

photo img_4270

Leg space is probably slightly below average(?), acceptable on this short flight.

photo img_4272

In the seatback pocket, you get a safety information card, a KrisShop magazine and a airsickness bag.

photo img_4274photo img_4275photo img_4276

The last passengers filter onboard.

photo img_4277

Once the doors were closed, we pushed back and the safety video plays from the screens which unfold from above.

The crew making sure everyone is wearing their seatbelts before take off.

photo img_4280

Once we get to cruising altitude, the crew begins handing out the meals.

photo img_4281

Today's meal is fried rice with sweet and sour fish. I also got a nice cake for dessert.

An uneventful flight means that after under 2 hours, we have landed in Singapore.

Disembarkation

Making my way down to immigration.

I'll be collecting my bags from Belt 38 today.

photo img_4289

I was tempted to get some duty free but I didn't see anything which interested me.

Waiting for my bag to end the trip.

Simple flight from SQ evoking memories of Silk Air.

Well said. Again the catering it below normal SQ standards, but still looks quite decent.

I hope I get to try the MAX 8 eventually.

Would be great to see a review on the SQ MAX 8, which have upgraded cabins.

    Thanks for sharing!
