Welcome everyone to another trip report! After arriving late in the evening the night before from Salt Lake City we only had to wait about 7 hours or so here at DFW before our 5am flight to Miami. I have to say though that airport benches here in DFW are some of the worst ones I've encountered. They were hard, cold, not cushioned and quite narrow to make yourself even remotely comfortable. Luckily while making my way through the terminal I found an empty café with cushioned benches and other passengers snoozing there as well so I found a spot for myself and slept the night away comfortably there. Fast forward I set a timer and woke up at around 3:30a and made my way to the gate via the air train. I'm quite excited for this particular flight as this will be my first time flying in domestic business class on a wide body jet and experiencing lie flat seats as well. I don't yet have enough points to fly business class on an international flight so for the time being this will do ?.
It was so early in the morning that the airport was completely deserted. If I remember correctly we stayed in terminal C where we landed in from Salt Lake City and our next departing flight to Miami would be out of terminal D.
Confirming that we will be departing from D25
Our gate area
A look at our Boeing 777-300ER that'll take us on a short domestic hop to Miami this morning.
Boarding started on time and we boarded with group 1.
Some information about my plane: Flight number: AA2567 Aircraft: Boeing 777-300(ER) Registration: N723AN Delivered: May 2013
Funny enough this will be my second time riding her! I flew this aircraft 6 prior on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles in economy class. But this time I'll be in Flagship Business ?.
the flight
Here's me seat (7A). Each Flag Ship Business seat has direct aisle access and all window seats faces towards the windows.
And this is why I strategically picked this seat for it's amazing wing & engine view :).
There were headphones placed at each seat.
A look at the cabin.
Legroom was of course excellent.
The entertainment popped out in front from a touch of a button.
Another smaller B777-200ER next to us departing later for Honolulu.
Boarding was complete shortly there after the jetway was pulled back. This flight (as with almost every Miami bound flight) was completely full.
The safety video was played.
We pushed back from the gate on time.
The cabin lighting was set to a blueish-purple for takeoff.
Lining up on the runway.
After takeoff I decided to play around with the IFE system and see what they offer.
There was a great selection of movies, tv shows & music to keep yourself entertained. However I stayed glued to the interactive moving map ?.
A look at the tray table
The sun began to rise at the start of the breakfast service.
inflight service
First came the drinks cart with a variety selection of beverages, I went for the typical in this morning flight which was coffee :)
Shortly after the meal cart arrived. The two options were oatmeal or everything bagel. I went with the latter.
The meal also came with yogurt, side of fruits, granola & a banana.
After enjoying the meal I decided to relax and take in the beautiful sunrise outside.
Here's the main control panel for seat adjustments. I wish I was flying on a longer flight to fully experience this seat in lie flat mode, one day hopefully ?.
There are also individual USB & universal power outlets available at each seat to stay charged.
Above that is a remote control & reading light
The seats offer comfortable headrests
These are what can be found in the setback contents: safety card, air sickness bag & inflight entertainment guide.
More scenes from 34,000ft flying over the Gulf of Mexico :)
Can we simply take a moment to appreciate the massive size of this powerful GE engine.
25 minutes before landing we reached the coast of Florida.
Shortly there after we began our descent into Miami
Flying over the everglades.
Downtown Miami in the distance.
We'll be landing from the southeast on runway 30. This is my first time landing from this direction as all my previous times flying into Miami we would normally land from the west or northwest.
Welcome to Miami!
arrival
We arrived ahead of schedule at the gate.
Last look at out Boeing 777-300(ER), it was a pleasure flying on you this morning!
This concludes my flight on AA's domestic flagship business class from Dallas/Fort Worth to Miami, thanks for reading!

Conclusion
This was my first time flying on a wide body domestic business class product on American Airlines and I was very impressed. The value was very impressive having a flight like this one on my itinerary considering that AA usually utilizes narrow body jets between these two hub cities and only offers wide body jets occasionally to meet demand. However I definitely enjoyed the pod like experience of this business class seat and not having a neighbor next to me compared to narrow body jets. The seat itself was simply amazing and comfort features were fantastic especially for a domestic flight of this length. The FA's on this flight were also great and upbeat throughout the entirety of this flight. Not to mention meal was also very good and plentiful for the length of this flight.

Oof, 5AM departure, that's rough! Good thing it was a 77W with fully flat seats in J--that helps! Haha
I've done a few AA domestic widebody flights before in J, but they change the schedule a lot and I've had schedule changes to a narrowbody a few times. Always nice to have a widebody when you can catch one of course.
Meal service was OK for the time, when they were first starting to re-introduce meals on domestic flights. Luckily it's improved a bit more since then with more hot options.
