This series will cover a short trip on LH from Munich to Hamburg. Instead of flying directly from Munich to Hamburg, I purchased a ticket which created a transit at Frankfurt airport. The reason was that I really wanted to try the A320neo of Lufthansa. People might think that this is absolutely nonsense.

In the morning, I took a bus and S-Bahn and arrived at the airport at 10:15am. As I didn't have any checked baggage, so I printed out the boarding pass at a automatic machine. I went to a bank and withdrew some money before going through the security check.

Our gate was assigned at G26. When I got to the gate, the parking slot was still occupied by an A321 of Lufthansa, but I forgot to check where the plane was flying to. I found a seat next to the gate and read my ebook on mobile phone.
Very soon, my plane arrived after the departure of the A321. D-AINC would be taking me to Frankfurt and then to Hamburg today.
Boarding was started at 11:39am. I chose a window seat at the second exit row, 12A. Boarding was completed in no time, and I guessed the loading was about 60% only. My neighboring seat was unoccupied and a guy was seating in the aisle seat.
Seat is identical with other A320 series. There is a diagram at the back of the tray which teaches you how to open the exit door.
Biscuit was distributed before push back.
Pushback commenced at 11:57am, 3 minutes ahead of schedule. Air China A330-200, B-5918 parked next to us preparing for the flight back to Shanghai Pudong as CA828

We taxi to RWY26R and without any stop we took off at 12:08pm.
Once the seatbelt sign was off, my seat mate went to the lavatory. Due to the sunlight reflection, it was hard to take good pictures so I decided to move to 11F at the right side.

Drink was then served and I opted for apple juice.
I went through the Lufthansa magazine. Topic of the month would be the retirement of the 737 series. The picture at the upper left was actually the B737-400 which flew for Lufthansa for a a short period of time in the mid 1990s.

Soon, seatbelt sign was on again at 12:31pm as we were descending into Frankfurt airport.
Passing through the Commerzbank-Arena
We touched down at RWY25L at 12:45pm. Flight time was 37 minutes
After a short taxi, we parked at Gate 15.
Last picture before leaving the aircraft.
See you soon, D-AINC!

Thanks for this FR. I totally understand adding one stop on a domestic flight just to get on a new aircraft ;-) Decent service, the flight duration doesn't permit much more anyway...

I think it was a good decision to get occasion to try the A320neo.
Lufthansa is offering biscuit and drinks on this really short-haul flight, which is not so easy to do!
Unfortunately you were boarding in Munich in "old" terminal and not this new one opened last.

KL651: Well, apparently there wasn't much to expect for such a short hop.
