Trip Overview

First, let’s start with a short overview.
There were several options to get to Manama.
For example, a direct flight with Gulf Air from FRA or different options with Emirates, Etihad and Qatar.
In conclusion, the cheapest and most comfortable option for this trip to Manama was flying with Emirates via Dubai.
So I had some great flight times, departing on Wednesday Evening - arriving von Thursday morning and flying back home on Monday morning - arriving on Monday evening back in MUC.

Pre-Flight Information

Emirates changed a few things since my last time flying with them back in September 2015.
EK offers now different fares in Economy with different conditions.
In January i booked a flight and hotel package via Expedia, which was quite a good price.
But I got the cheapest Economy Class fare - so I was not able to reserve a seat for my flights for free.
There was the option to pay for it.
25€ for each of the long-haul flights MUC -> DXB and DXB -> MUC.
10€ for each of the short haul flights DXB -> BAH and BAH -> DXB.
Overall another 70€ combined - I was a little bit sad, because 70€ just for seat reservation? Hmm … it's quite expensive - in my opinion.
In the end, I waited until the online check-in opened and was lucky on all four flights - I got seats which were okay.
Only the BAH -> DXB rout was in the middle 10 seat row, which was not that nice - but for a 1h flight okay!
The overall load for EK52 on April 12th was quite huge. I did not see any empty seat in Economy Class and I think Business and First was also packed.

I choose the chicken which was very good - nothing special, but the known EK standard I would say.
