Pre Flight @ NUE
I arrived a little bit early at the Albrecht Dürer Airport in Nuremberg and had time to kill in the Lufthansa Lounge.
There were not that many people in the lounge as it was a calm Tuesday afternoon.
The weather was pretty bad that week in Germany, so a few flights had a delay arriving from north Germany.
I relaxed a little bit and ate something.
They offered Fleischpflanzerl (beef and pork meatballs) with salad, ice cream and a some sweet cakes.
The WIFI was very good in the Lounge, so I tracked the inbound flight from FRA with flightradar24.
Luckily there was no delay as my layover in FRA was just a little bit more than 1 hour.
Flight LH153
Boarding for LH153 started 5 minutes earlier as planned and as the flight was not that full, it was done very quickly.
My ride to FRA.
Oh yes … A320-200 with Sharklets :)
Germanwings at the Gate next to me.
Leg room was not bad as the LH domestic Business Class seat is just a normal Economy Class seat but the middle seat is not occupied.
As you can see the weather was not good at all. Lots of rain and very cloudy.
Picture from takeoff and after we passed the clouds.
The short hop between NUE and FRA takes just about 20-30 minutes, so the crew started the meal service very very early.
They just asked, if you want something to eat and drink and within a minute you got the tray.
The meal was not bad at all and to be honest, I did not expected to get something on a 20 minute flight.
I barely finished my meal, the descent to FRA started.
The flight itself was quite bumpy because of the bad weather with all the heavy clouds over Germany.
But overall, the 20 minutes passed very quickly.
After Flight @ FRA
Last but not least a few photos from FRA.
My next ride, South African Airways A340-600 was waiting at the Gate and getting ready.
Also on the taxiway, one of many LHs B747.
After the aircraft arrived at the Gate, I had about 1.5 hours to check out the LH Lounge in FRA and to get ready for the big one - the 10.5h flight to JNB.
