On December I had 3 days off, from my boss. He was a bit generous especially before Christmas time. So I decided to discover a new city in the UK and also to fly a last time on the B737-400 BA before BA withdrawn them from service (it is scheduled for next year). So I decided to visit the city of Glasgow in Scotland. I bought my tickets. When I arrived at the airport, I print my boarding pass and went to my gate for boarding.

I enjoy Gatwick airport, because at some gates, we can have a nice view on our day's aircraft. That's not the first time I'm flying from Gatwick. But the 737-400 BA are based at Gatwick. Boarding was quickly made, and at the aircraft's door we were warm welcomed by 2 stewardess and also by 2 writing (one about the aircraft story, and the second about the CCTV), yes onboard the BA's planes we are filmed for safety reasons.

When I arrived to my seat I discover my personal space for the next minutes of flight. The seat was comfortable. When boarding was completed everything happen quickly (safety demonstration, push back and engines start). Then we taxi to the take off runway. During taxi we had time to observe some nice aircraft's tails like Aurigny, Wow and Norwegian. After an A319 EasyJet it was our turn to take off.

Take off was quick and the climb slowly by levels due of the high air traffic at London area. Then when we arrived to our cruise altitude and because today's flight is short I went quickly to visit the cabin which was in mint condition. I got also time to chat a bit with the crew who told me that they were happy that BA withdrawn the 737-400 because they were old and noisy planes. After the short chat I went back to my seat… Yes we are arriving at Glasgow with … A Scottish weather.

Landing was fine with some turbulence but nothing important. Taxi was really short. Maybe that Glasgow is not a so big airport, but it can welcome heavy planes such as 747-400 from Virgin which is not bad at all. When leaving the plane, the crew invite me to visit the old school flight deck… What's sweet !!! The crew was really nice on this short flight. A little souvenir picture of this old cockpit, I thanks the crew when leaving the plane and now it's time to go to discover the city of Glasgow.

A bit old but in good condition.

A nice crew, smiling and careful about the passengers requests.

The flight was the entertainment of the day.

Cookies and tea. Simple but fine a such short flight.
