Hi everyone! This report is of the second leg of my Colombia trip. I hope you like it! This air ticket I got it for free after changing some LANPASS km that I had. I only had to pay something like 10 USD in fees.
Two days before my flight I got an e-mail from LAN inviting me to do my check in online. I proceeded but I never received my boarding pass. So, on the morning of my flight I got to the airport an hour and a couple of minutes before my flight.
LAN Counters
When I entered the airport I headed for LAN counters. I explained the agent that I never received my boarding pass, so she printed me one and dispatched my luggage.
After that I went through security. They also asked me to show my ID. After that I was at the airside of the airport. There weren’t many aircraft movements at that time. Before my flight there was another LAN flight to SMR, and another to a city I don’t remember the name. As there was still an hour to go I bought myself a small breakfast at Dunkin Donuts.
Then I decided to look for my departure gate. I ended up on the ground floor (gate 13) that its divided in 5 separate gates with no jetway.
So I waited there to board my plane. When the moment came the agents were asking the passengers not to form a line until the row of seats is called up. First they called LAN and TAM status passengers, then passengers with little children, then first half of rows (me!) and finally the last half of rows. They filled up 3 buses and took us to a remote side where the aircraft was parked. First we stopped next to an A320, they opened the doors and quickly closed them. It seems like it was the wrong plane, then they left us near the right one.
When I boarded I was nicely greeted by the FAs.
They quickly located all the passengers in their seats and announced we’ll be taking off soon.
So at 11.50 we took off, and headed north immediately.
Moments later, the captain introduced himself, and gave us some details about the flight. He invited us to relax and enjoy the flight.
In the middle of the flight the FAs came with some little boxes and drinks. The choices were Juan Valdez coffee, water of juice. Inside the box there was a small bag of fried platain snacks (like chips) and a small “Arequipe” (or as we call it, Dulce de Leche) sweet.
Minutes later the FAs removed the trash, and there were sill 30 minutes to land. The captain announced our decent over CTG and after some interesting turns we landed at 12.50.
In our way to the terminal I could spot an Avianca Boeing 787. This aircraft made its inaugural flight to JFK 2 days after.
Finally we stopped and disembarked on the stairs. This airport doesn’t have any jetways. It’s amazing how hot the weather here is compared to Bogotá.
Then I made my way to the terminal. They took a lot of time to deliver our luggage and it was the only arriving flight at that time! Finally I got my suitcase and catched a cab to the walled city!

Conclusion
It was a good short flight. BOG’s domestic terminal is very nice and new. But it doesn’t have many shops or places to eat or drink. The flight was ok, It was really short and I spent most of the time reading or watching through the window. CTG airport should have jetways because its incredibly hot and humid, as its right next to the Caribbean sea!

Thanks for sharing this short report with a nice bonus.
At least AV makes an effort and serves something. When it comes to catering nothing is as bad as U.S. domestic flights. It is criminal that on some flights that are over 5+ hours passengers in the back don't get even peanuts.
CTG looks charming and quite colorful. I bet the food there is just as good.
Thanks for sharing this second leg in the trip. Seems like a pretty good service for a short domestic flight--way better than what we get here in the US anyway. I'm surprised you didn't have to pay more in taxes for a mileage redemption ticket--very good price! Nice bonus pics of the Caragena area. The water looks beautiful and the buildings are so colorful.
