Carrying on from my last report…
We spent April 1st and April 2nd spotting from the Panomara Terrace (And got some good video and pictures as shown bellow). The plan to visit the Museum didn't happen due to my dad being slightly unwell and as a result not willing to do public transport and do a twenty minute walk in erratically changing weather.

Either way I got some nice images of movements and the KLM Fokker F100.

At 16:30pm on April 2nd, the two of us made our way from the Viewing Deck down to the check in desks. We checked in for our CityJet Avro RJ85 to London City. This was part of the plan I had. We got through security quickly and ended up at the D-Gates. Which provided a good chance for more spotting. We found our flight was to be delayed by 2 hours. I wasn't too disappointed as there was a good view and some nice pictures to be taken.

After an hour of photography we found our flight had been cancelled.
Now, my dad personally believed that because our flight was just over half full, CityJet pulled the flight with the intention to stick us on the next one. Whether this happened or if the plane went tech, I don't know. I don't think either of us will know why it got given a two hour delay then cancelled.
We made our way to the KLM Customer Service area and we were put on the next CityJet Avro RJ85 arriving. This was a stroke of luck as I thought we would be placed on the next KLM service to LHR (Either way I wouldn't have minded). We got Row 5 and I was on the Window seat… Which was a bigger bonus!!!
We had to run from one end of the airport to the other and go back through security. The already two hour delayed Avro RJ85 had arrived from LCY and was ready to return. We made it just in time.
Our Avro RJ85 was EI-RJC. Built in 1998 and delivered to CityJet in 2008.
We pushed back and I got a nice view of the Retro-Jet sitting two planes from me.
We spent about 30 minutes taxiing from the Terminal to our Runway. I think the flight could have taken less time than the taxi. We finally left Amsterdam 4 hours after our scheduled departure.
The short regional flight was quite smooth. The Avro RJ85 surprised me that it could fit in 3-3 seating and still be quite comfortable. It was more cramped for legroom than the Boeing 737, which was expected. There were two Flight Attendants serving the cabin. The bloke looked like Danny Dyer & the woman had her hair tied into a big blonde-bun, I'm surprised it didn't give her neck cramp. I asked them about getting into the Flight Deck once we had landed and they said they'd ask once on the ground. I was hoping, but knowing they may not be able to due to the massive delays…
I had two drinks (can of beer and can of coke) and the BBQ Corn snacks provided free on the flight. they were nice tasting and ideal for short regional flights done by CityJet.
As we did our decent, I looked out the window to see some nice sceneary of London at Night. We were landing in the heart of the capital so I took a picture from the window of London lights with the engine 3 of the Avro RJ.
We came into London City pretty uneventfully. Was an awesome landing. The plane breaked quite hard, not surprising for those who know what LCY is like with The Thames Estuary either side.
We waited until most of the passengers cleared off and then I got into the Flight Deck for some awesome Avro RJ85 shots. I even got into the Co-Pilots seat for some, which was nice.
Afterwords we got on the Underground from LCY to London Paddington and then got on the last train to Slough. We met with mother, who drove us back to Burnham. It was a trip for the books. Very eventful but still a nice one.
Thanks for sharing this FR
Gorgeous spotting at AMS
Despite the delay it was an uneventful flight
See you soon for another report
Yep, next one is going to be a while. I'm out of flights until my 2 Monarch ones in June/July. Stay tuned :D
Thanks for sharing this report,
Very nice and interesting spotting at AMS !
Good flight despite of the delay.
See you,
Great views at AMS, loved the DC3!
Thanks for sharing!
Glad you liked the report. I had no idea that the DC-3 was about to fly over until I heard a propeller buzzing. Did alright for right at the last minute...
Great report, thanks. I'd say you saw some interesting planes @ EHAM: RAF C-130, DC-3 and the PH-KBX F70! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you. I will get the F70 in 2016 ideally... It's on my hit list for Summer 2016 :)
