Hello everyone, I'm still very late on my schedule, but I'll try my best to write a lot of FR during those summer holiday! So here is my flight to Istanbul from Bordeaux on TK new Boeing 737-800 Economy class.

REVIEW
After a rather long ride to the airport, heading to the terminal 2.

Bag drop went well, no Online Check-in line… Now security check, and passport control

The boarding was uninteresting… Boarding 5min late, take off on time.

As always even the simple meals on TK are absolutely delicious! Beef and Chicken!

Great legroom, seat in not very wide, A321 eco seats are wider I think.

I think I broke a new record, I pass the passport in less than 5min. It took me 30min from the plane to the harbour.

Conclusion

A very comfortable flight to Istanbul on those brand new 738 . Cabin crew were professional but without the smile... Catering was excellent as always on TK.
A 2 hot meal choice for lunch on a 3h flight! The IFE was super easy to use and offers a large choice of media(movie, music, TV show, game, etc..).

Bordeaux is an airport and absolutely not practical airport. After the security check you have a 20 square/meter of duty free and 2 automatic drink machine... That's quite sad to have that kind of thing in a airport for this beautiful city! They really have to renovate this terminal. Once you passed the passport control you have no access to anywhere(only the air-bridge actually)!

Istanbul is a nice airport which can be super crowded some hours! I was very lucky to have almost no queue for the passport check, usually you are stuck in those lines for almost 2h! Taxi to the parking was short as the baggage claim. It's quite a mess to get a taxi, there a lot people blocking the airport exit because they're smocking in front of the doors, then there's always that men who make the rules, so you get a taxi on the other side of the walkway. Eventually I found one 2 min after! After a short cab ride I took the boat to the asian side, and had another 10min ride to my hotel. First time I went that fast out of the airport!

  • Great report! Everything looks great, from the seats to the catering. Living in the U.S. I just can't even imagine a full hot meal on a 3h flight in economy. It's great that TK serves secondary French cities like BOD and TLS, it makes for convenient access to the Middle East and Indian sub-Continent without backtracking through the big European hubs of CDG, LHR, or FRA.

    • Thanks for this comment! TK has definitely created a new way to fly! They are expanding in europe, particularly on small airport, like BOD or LUX! You'll have to transfer in IST which isn't practical right now. Thanks again!
