After a fantastic extended week end at BKK for the Flight Report Meetup, it's time to see new horizons! Off to Bali via Singapour.

Together with fellow Flight Reporter Icare we are flying SQ to DPS.

The check in hall is quiet and we'll get our boarding passes within minutes. Some pictures from the check in area:

Thanks to the fast past, we'll literally expedite the checks:

Inside the terminal pictures. SIN has been often praised as one of the most beautiful airport of the world, I think BKK is not far from it. Apart from long walking distances, the airport is really nice and well maintenained.

SQ lounge, not to write a home about:

The food choices are really ok but the lounge itself is dark and noisy. There are no tarmac view but a lovely park view:

Icare trying to make a corporate photo shoot, new style ^^:

Our selection:

Nice furnitures:

But no lavatories in the lounge and … no champagne!

A few minutes before boarding we head to our gate passing the Royal Orchid Spa:

Our plane is here, nice flowers in the boarding lounge:

Boarding is called with a strict respect of the priority. My signature, aircraft doors:

Cabin shoots, very nice cabin indeed:

The seat itself is pretty nice but is missing storage. There are two small drawers but ways to small. Three cup holders but nothing to store a camera or a book. Furthermore, there is a small gap between the seat and the seat cover, a phone can easily drop here. Another problem is that when the seat full flat is, you can't put your feet upright under the IFE Box. The space is too narrow. Not a big deal on a 02:15 flights but still, annoying.

Privacy screen between seats:

Safety card:

Welcome drink are served, water, OJ, champagne or wine cocktail:

Cheers Flight Report:

Hot towels and menues are handed out:

The soft drinks offering is very impressive, the food a bit less. But still, outstanding if you compare to Domestic First in the US. The crew takes the drinks order for the aperitive before take-off to speed up the service once in the air.

On time push back and a bit of spotting:

I found the Qatar A380 livery really ungly. Looks like an old fat fish :)

AFter take off, I pay a lavatory visit:

More cabin shoots and the seat in the full flat position:

Apéro with a cocktail I forgot the name:

Big and stable table:

All in one tray:

We both took the pastas that where good. This is the starter:

Good but not great.

Cutlery + The garlic bread that was to die for:

The best part of the meal were the dessert and the coffee:

Conclusion

To summ it up: I did not really like that seat due to the lack of storage and the lie flat feet problem.

The SQ girls were lovely, nice and charming. A great plus.

The food was good, specially compared to US airlines. IFE was good but not to my expectations.

The lounge clearly misses inside toilets and champagne.

BKK was easy to navigate and quiet.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for the next part :)

    Thanks for this report,

Nice flight apparently and SQ like OZ and CX is definitly offering high standard service.
I fall in love with this garlic bread! (quite rare to get it in a plane?) I'm hungry!

    See you

Hey! Nice to see one of your reports. It's been a while. The lounge looks good with a nice selection of food--it's just a shame there is no champagne and that there are no restrooms in the lounge. On board, the seat looks good visually, too bad it's not that comfortable. Food looks fine but I would expect better.

    Thanks for sharing!
