Review of Aegean Airlines flight from Athens to Warsaw in Economy

Hi again,
Here's the report from the return leg of my trip to Greece, flight A3860 frm ATH to WAW. After two wonderful weeks spent in many places there was no choice but to return home. The Eleutherios Venizelos airport, despite being situated far away from the city of Athens, can be easily reched by the underground with a special ticket of 8 euro or by bus with a special airport fare of 5 euro. The underground trip from Syntagma square takes about 30 mintues while a journey by bus can take even an hour or more depending on the traffic.
Aegean Airlines check in counters are located in the left side of the terminal watching from the main entrance. As on the most airports it is required to check in using the self check in machines and then proceed to baggage drop counters. We have already checked in online and used the machines just to print our boarding passes. The whole process was very easy and the queue to the baggage drop counter took just a couple of mintues.
Unlike other airports that I know in Athens you first enter the duty free shopping zone (only boarding passes are checked) and the security check takes place before entering the gate zone. The security staff (unlike the one in WAW) is very polite and the check itself is very smooth and fast. Having done that I was able to spot some aircrafts waiting for the boarding of our flight (what is Air Seychelles doing in ATH???)

Boarding started on time and soon I was sitting in my 8A seat in not so new as on the first flight but still very well maintained and clean A320.

After take off we slowly left the Attica region flying over Euboea island, the Sporades and the Chalkidiki peninsula

The service started very fast and again a hot meal (this time it was pasta with meatballs and cheese sauce) and beverages were served togehter with a bun, butter, cream cheese and cookies. It was delicious and served with a smile. I chose Greek white wine Kretikos and still water to drink.

The flight was very calm with no turbulence as the weather was very good on our route. We began our descent towards Warsaw with sunset on our left.

We landed on time and proceeded to the baggage claim area where we were supposed to wait a little as there where bags form LOT flight from Istanbul on the same belt.
