Hello again everyone, this was the first part of my trip that took me to Lima on American Airlines a few days ago. My day started early at LHR T3. To be honest I heard so many bad things about T3 that I wasn't very happy about the idea of spending a couple of hours around. To my surprise I found the BA Club Galleries pretty decent with an appropiate selection of wines for the Business Class market and Oneworld Sapphire card holders.
View of the tarmac (my ride to Miami being towed to the gate)
Boarding time was at 12:40 and at that same time boarding started. Priority was given and I was welcomed by a very friendly cabin crew from Italy that guided me to the second floor. My first impression was of course of a ''flying dorm'' but the cabin looked very spacious, bright and the details of the seat were of good taste.

Seat 56A
After a few minutes I was offered the welcome drink, I picked Taittinger Brut which is perfectly fine for J.
Push back on time and we took off heading directly to Ireland and the Atlantic.
Lunch started with a package of nuts with Kir Royale, the great signature drink of BA Club
Here is a look at the menu offered for today…
After a few minutes my friendly cabin crew from India served me the tray together with an excellent french red wine
Excellent appetizer with cheese and a fresh salad
Beef was slightly overcooked as we all know is the tradition with BA , but the dish was decent overall
Nice dessert of blackcurrant and cream to finish
Some more glasses of Chateau Ferrande and a couple of Baileys :)
Descent started towards Miami, I avoided the Afternoon tea as I wasn't very excited about the pre packed sandwiches, though the sweets were nice and I was trying to control the calories intake for summer in the Southern Hemisphere…
Goodbye A-380,till next April!
Immigration at Miami was fairly quick going through the ESTA kiosks and priority bags were delivered before Economy and non status bags.
Thanks for this report Giancarlo330! Others have remarked that this seating arrangement can be a bit awkward because you're facing the person next to you with the divider down and your meals have to be served across them. Did you feel that way at all?
Hi Nick, yes it can be a bit weird but nothing to make a big drama. I mean, for me it is much worse to fly the NEV4 of AF/ KL new J/ most AA TATL fleet/ etc etc where I have to jump above someone to get out of the window seat. The seat does offer a fantastic privacy when the divider is up so if you have a bit of patience for the few minutes that the divider is down then you will for sure enjoy the seat arrangement.
Thanks for your comment!
GC.
Thanks for this report Giancarlo.
I am not sue that I would like this cabin with seats facing backwards and what seems to be a thigh space.
The meal looks very nice both the content and the presentation. However BA should really change the tablecloth as it is too short and spoils the luxury feeling that the other details give.
British Airways crew , when at their best, can be fabulous with this very british sense of service and humor.
