I am only transiting in Seattle to my final destination: Las Vegas. I am trying to go to Vegas once a year, to gamble a bit but most of all to shop. I'll do most of my Christmas shopping there.
Let's go to the gate:
Service desks are not open a that early time:
Departure board:
A bit of spotting:
The flight is almost empty in coach: 48 taken seats for 165 available. First is full: 16/16. Boarding starts on time and will be completed in 5 minutes. We are ready to go 30'' before scheduled departure time, but due to ATC constraints we can "only" leave on time.
Seat pitch and our neighbor:
IFE is available via WIFI:
As we have half an hour before push back, coffee is being offered in First:
We push back at STD and are airborne at 06:10. Sun is rising:
I took this picture to show you that at 06:50, after 40 minutes of flight there is still no sign of any service. The fasten seat belt sign has been switched off since 15 minutes and the two flight attendants working in First were still seated and chatting. As they were quite loud the whole cabin could follow their discussion about cars, kids, weather… Absolutely not professional. Eventually after a while I overheard the purser stating: "we should now start the service»…
Split winglet and a nice view:
At 07:00 the drinks orders are taken and an hour after takeoff the first drinks are served. They come with … pretzels. I was surprised as I was expecting breakfast. I ask the attendant if we'll get a breakfast and she answers meals are being heated. We eventually got breakfast at 07:30. Here's the tray:
It was a really good meal: the hot dish (scrambled eggs, polenta, tomatoes, and chicken apple sausage) was tasty, the Danish was served warm and was good. The fruits were fresh. What really disturbed me is how the service slow and late was. Eating after 01H25 flight time on a 02H25 flight is too late. Especially on an early morning flight were I would prefer eat and rest than wait for the service to begin.
Anyway…
Again the split winglet:
The weather was quite cold in Nevada the last days and the mountains around Vegas were snow caped. Here some shoots of them, including Mt Charleston:
Red Rock Canyon:
And Vegas:
We landed from the south, along I15:
We landed on time, here is a bit of ground spotting.
747SP Sands Corp.:
JANET - 737-600 :
It looks like the MGM is seating on the airport grounds ;)
Omni - 767-200ER and Allegiant - MD82:
Spirit, the first ULCC in the US (and also the most hated airline in the US. Here after their three deliveries. From the oldest one to the current one.
Allegiant again:
We docked at one time. Almost nonexistent farewell from the crew.
Looks like you had a good flight with Alaska Airlines. The food looks very good, and much more plentiful than when I flew AS back last March from Seattle to Minneapolis.
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for your comment !
Thank you for sharing another beautiful report!
Your aerials and spotting are superb as always, flight only ruined by a standard US crew that can often be well below standard. Food looked good with a large plate of hot food.
Thank you very much!
