Carrying on from camping in the airport, I slept on some metal seats in the check in area. Not very comfortable but I got a good 3 hours of sleep and somewhere to charge up my phone.

I spent the rest of the day at the Zurich Airport Observation Deck. Getting a load of aircraft that I had missed the day before. During mid-day the weather improved to get nice weather of some of the long-haul traffic that lifted past the Viewing Deck!

I went air-side about 3 hours before my flight was scheduled to leave. Security was efficient and quick at ZRH, though to be fair I did decide it would be best to go air-side before the evening rush tried to really pick up full swing.
I went to the gate 90 minutes before the scheduled departure time. I had to literally walk to the other side of the Terminal gates.
My aircraft showed up and turned out to be HB-IVQ, which I had snapped the morning before at LCY doing the Zurich flight before mine! As well as a few times when taking pictures at the Viewing Deck.

The plane was boarded and we pushed back a bit early. The plane was around 65% full of PAX. While taxiing I noticed the retro LOT E-170 had just come in from Warsaw.
The evening was clear and the sun was setting. Luckily the Swiss to UK time-zone is -1 hour so I could have a few good sunset shots that were consistent.
The beverage service on this Helevetic flight was free. You got a locally made Swiss cheese sandwich and free drinks (I chose Orange Juice). Really nice for this one-hour flight.
As we came in to England, I noticed clouds over part of North-East London where it was clearly raining. It clearly shows in the video.
We landed at LCY ahead of schedule by a good 15 minutes. I had a bit of camera trouble in the flight deck and they wanted to board the new passengers quickly, but I got one image and about 4 seconds of footage to use for this flight- my first on an E-Jet.

I then left the aircraft and quickly got through immigration. I then brought a London travel ticket and used that to get to Ealing Broadway where I was picked up by my parents and driven back home.

Thanks for this report,
ZRH is a modern nice airport.
Nice retro-Lot that you saw while taxiing.
I'm always astonished concerning LCY, really close from London contrary to LHR, but so tiny!
Wish you a nice week-end.
Thank you, you as well. Yeah, LCY (like LHR) is in the London area. But LCY is really close to central London and is small as it is built on the old Dockyards, for some reason- the runway can't be expanded- however they are expanding the apron and renovating the Terminal at some stage. LCY is the only London airport you can reach with a Travel Card. The others require separate tickets which is a rip-off!!!
Thank you for sharing this FR with us!
Absolutely fantastic spotting shots from ZRH, loved that part.
Stunning aerial shots!
The E-190 looks very comfortable from the reports I've read, would love to try it out one day.
Have a good one, see you!
Thank you, hopefully it won't be too long before the next one!
