Flight Sequence:
1. Lounge
Comment: Emirates does not offer an official lounge product, however the Manaia Lounge is used.
2. Pre-Departure
Seat 6A
Welcome drink and wine list
CHC Pushback
Comment: Being the only passenger in the forward cabin of 14 seats created a very personal level of experience, on-time departure and efficient service.
3. Departure & Cruise
Turbulent Climb
View into First
Climbing over the Southern Alps
Emirates 777 Lie-Flat Business Product
Dinner Service, Tuna Tartare and Chicken Cashew
New Zealand South Island
6A Legroom
6A Double Window
Tasman Cruise
Tasman Cruise
Comment: Excellent meal service for such a short flight, 6A is the best seat in business for privacy, personal space and wing views. With the bed in fully flat configuration, it is more of a suite due to the extra length seat divider which houses the stowable screen.
4. Approach & Landing
Approaching the coast of Australia
Sunset Descent
SYD Taxi
Engine Shutdown
De-planing forward cabin shot
5. Final Thought
Comment: Strong Trans-Tasman product offering for the length of flight, excellent catering and seat comfort and worth the miles as part of a NZ-DXB sector upgrade Highlights: 6A seat space, personal service and catering. Low Points: Lack of Emirates lounge (this is probably unreasonable considering the level of EK service at CHC).
