19 years old and this is my 50th Flight. So as I am doing it now, my Flight Reports maybe out of order for the time being…
I needed a cheap mileage run for my STAR ALLIANCE account to keep me going. I found SAS & Lufthansa were too dear in price for my budget, but for £90 I could do a day out in Brussels.
Without further ado, a day trip to Brussels was going to happen.
I got to London Heathrow the day of my flight, Saturday July 16th 2016, we parked the car in the Business Car Park for Terminals 2 & 3 and we were shuttled over to T2. This was to be my first time flying out of Terminal 2 at London Heathrow, having experienced T5, T3 and T4. Never did Terminal 1 during its existence- but I did visit it shortly before it closed for some sneaky pictures.

After quickly getting through security, I went to have lunch at the Wondertree restaurant (having tried the one at London Gatwick) and the breakfast was brilliant, the customer service was great as well.
I spent a good two hours after breakfast watching the aircraft from some of the gates, and I got some nice shots of different aircraft.

Eventually my Airbus A320 arrived to reveal itself as OO-SNB, just my luck! My 50th Flight was to be a Special Livery air frame- the TIN TIN.

Boarding began on time, as I boarded- I found that the Lufthansa flight next to mine was the retro-jet.

After boarding was complete, Brussels Airlines played a rather hilarious safety video on this Airbus A320. It was spoken in English, with local tongue Subtitles.

We departed a lovely and sunny London Heathrow for our (just over) 30 minutes to Brussels. It was nice seeing London so clearly from above.

The flight was smooth and quick. For an in flight service, Brussels Airlines only provided Orange Juice and Water. Which is fair enough as its only a 30 minute flight. But a small cake offered as well would have been nice to add on, but you can't have everything.

I wanted to buy the Tin-Tin A320 that is sold on Brussels Airlines, but they didn't have any.
We finally arrived in Brussels, we were about 10 minutes ahead of schedule, unlike the flight into LHR, we didn't have to worry about circling around waiting for a slot, we went straight into BRU.

I got some pictures around the cabin (after everyone cleared out) and grabbed a picture on my way to the bus (we had to go to the non-schengen area Terminal).

After going through passport control and having a small snack at a fast-food cafe (that was really terrible), the next step was to train over to Brussels Central and then to grab tickets on the Metro to the Military & Aviation Museum. I wanted to see the aircraft I had visited 7 years earlier with my more upgraded camera gear.

After concluding with the museum, the next stop on the day out- was to the Brussels Hard Rock Cafe…

After making my HRC Visit (which I try to do in most cities I go to) it was time, to go back to the airport and fly home to London.
Thanks to share this FR... ;)
Thank you, I will be doing the return on this journey later, I got to do a few earlier ones first :)
Interesting FR with a nice bonus of Brussels!
Congrats for scoring a great livery for your 50th flight!
SN has chosen to kept the forward bulkhead plain which is sad :-(
Thanks
Thank you, it was a smashing bonus! I was allowed in the flight deck & I got a photo, but I was asked not to share it on social media. SN is probably still on top security following the tragic events in March, parts of the airport was also pretty sealed off
