Background:
I took this trip to visit some friends and relatives in Australia. Being an Emirates Skywards Silver member, I usually try to book my flights with them.
Pre-flight: Chek-In at Zurich Airport was quite friendly and efficient as usual. After taking the train to the E Gates, I made my way to the Emirates Lounge.
Emirates offers all their Business and First class passenges access to their very own lounge at Zurich Airport.
The Lounge isn't really anything special, but still quite sufficient. The food and beverage ist alright, just what you need before your flight. I guess the only really outstanding thing about the lounge is the view.
So soon it was time to board! As always the business class passengers board through the upper deck, which was pretty fast. The Emirates A380 Business Seat is a really solid product. I love the big screens and the touchscreen tablets you get to control your seat and follow the flight channel. I found that Emirates has updated their blankets in Business Class and honestly the new ones are much better!
I was greeted by the cabin crew and they took me to my window seat 10J. They hung up my coat and offered some welcome champagne or orange juice. I went for the champagne! Shortly after the menu and the wine list were handed out. And soon it was time for take off.
Shortly after take off dinner was being served. I had sliced chicken with Avocado mousse for entree. Followed by Chicken breast with filled crepe. For dessert I decided to give the chocolate caramel cheesecake a try. There isn't really much to say about the meal. Emirates business class catering is usually really good and the only major issue with this meal was the dryness of the chicken breast. Apart from that, a pretty solid meal!
The crew on this flight was really amazing. The addressed all the passengers by their names and made every wish possible. After about 5 1/2 hrs it was time for our descend into Dubai.
Thanks for sharing this report with us. I am not a fan of the cabin design ( too much fake wood for my eyes!) but i must admit that it's very confortable and that the catering and service are very good on this flight. It also makes sense to travel Emirates going to Australia and the prices are usually good.
Yeah i have to agree. Not a fan of the decor, but still the hard product is really good.
