Hi everyone,
This report covers the second leg of my WAW-LWO-WAW trip with LOT.
The first leg description can be found here: http://flight-report.com/en/report/21753/LOT-Polish-LO-765-Warsaw-WAW-Lviv-LWO
Let me start with some pre-flight bonus showing some places of interest in the beautiful city of Lviv/Lwow. It's been my first stay there and I hope not the last one, it would be good to come in the summer when the city must look quite different.
We've stayed in a historic hotel "George" dating back to the 1793 and being before the second world war the most elegant hotel in the city hosting all the VIPs coming to town. Now, after years of being neglected it slowly regains its previous elegance and charm. Great thing about this hotel is its central location.

And the main hall with original staircase

Just in front of our hotel was the Mickiewicz (Poland's national poet) monument

The Old Town was just a few steps away. The latin cathedral outside and inside

The old market square with giant town hall

The armenian cathedral

If you are tired with the city and want to make a small uphill walk ypu can go to the "high castle" hill where there is hardly any castle (just a piece of wall remained) but a very good view of the old town

Before the second world war there were 20 synagogues in the city as one third of its population was Jewish. There is a commemoration monument in front of what remained from the old town synagogue. The square is called "The space of synagogues"

I don't like opera but I couldn't miss this one as it is one of the most beuatiful opera buildings I've ever seen. The only way to see it inside was to buy a ticket for a play and as it was very cheap (the cheapest ticket was 2 euro, we paid 5 to have better view) we decided to see The Haunted Manor which as all operas was played in its original language (Polish) which made things more berable ( I couldn't imagine spending there 3 hours and wathing an opera in Ukrainian)

Should you become hungry there are many good places to eat in Lviv, the one I would recommend the most is Baczewski restaurant in the old town with great food and atmosphere.

A place not to miss is the Drunk Cherry in the market square offering only a kind of sweet and sour cherry liqueur that tastes great whenever you go there.

Whant to try something weird? In Salo restaurant you can taste ukarainian traditional slightly smoked pork back fat (salo) served in not very traditional way e.g as sushi or covered in chocolate (I tried and it tastes good or maybe it was the chocolate that I liked, who knows…)

THE FLIGHT
After a long weekend in this cold but very nice city it's time to go home. This time in order to reach the airport we choose taxi which is a much better choice that the bus we took in opposite direction.
The terminal

The airport is so big comparing to its traffic that it's impossible to see it crowded, everywhere you look, you see space…
Airlines desks

Main hall

LOT check-in counters

Check in, safety and passport control take only a couple of minutes and we are airside with only one duty free shop and cafe and again a lot of space

Thank's to its construction the terminal gives many opportunities for some spotting
UIA 737-800 to TLV

Pegasus 737-800 to IST

Wondering where this AN is flying to (if it still flies…)

Our E-75 arriving from WAW

The ramp seems even crowded ;)

Pegasus taxiing to the runway

My gate and departures board

Boarding starts on time. It's strange but to reach the jestbridge you need first to go downstairs as it is located on a lower level that the gate area

Onboard again the same situation as on the first flight: a senior purser greeting us a t the door and two young FAs at the rear again too occupied with their chat to notice the passengers.
One can say these seats are not the most beautiful ones but they are very comfy

View from my seat

I found in the seatpocket this menu card. It seems LOT introduced this separate menu in addition to what you can find inside the onboard magazine.

The flight is full, I can't see an empty seat. The legroom as on all LOT E-jets is very generous

After take off and passing the clouds a beautiful sunset light appears. The clouds are so thick they look like snow

Standard winter service with tea/coffee free of charge

The flight is short (about 45 minutes) but long enough for the young FAs to tell their life stories and show some lack of politeness to the passengers: my friend wanted to give back an empty cup that was torn out of his hand with such an angry look on the girl's face we were both in a shock.
Back on the ground

Cabin view during deboarding

If you arrive to Warsaw from a non Shengen destination you have a bad luck or a possibility to strech your legs a little bit after your trip. To reach the passport control desks and then the baggage claim you walk endless corridors and stairs. If you have a connecting flight and less than 1 hour I'm afraid you might not do it.

For the first time I see a screen displaying information on how long it's gonna take to start delivering luggage

Many thanks for reading!
I was having so much fun with the bonus, that I was like "boooo" when it came to an end. Jaw-dropping architechture in Lviv!
So LOT is also offering a menu. It looks good! I'm too lazy to check for the Polish currency exchange rate, but I think that a hot meal at the price of little more than two Pringles is quite a bargain! Unless the Pringles are brutally overpriced...
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you. I'm glad you liked the bonus pics. 1 euro is approximately 4,30 Polish zloty. The prices are very reasonable comparing to other airlines
And I agree with you about opera. I'm not really a fan of it, either. If the characters are happy, they sing. If they are dying, they sing! That's weird. XD
