Hello everyone, this month I had another weekend trip to Hamburg. This route is nothing special to me, so basically writing this report is just a record of my travel. After work, I took the S Bahn and arrived the airport at 17:55pm. As I did not have any checked luggage, so I just print out the boarding pass with an automatic machine and headed to the security check. The security process was quite smooth, and I was in airside in 15 mins. My gate was assigned to G10, I went to check out my gate and found that my plane hadn't arrived yet. Then I went back to the central area with lots of shops where I brought myself a croissant.

Gate G10. ANA B787-9, JA872A was parked next to our gate after arriving from Haneda as NH217.

As I headed back to the gate, my ride appeared. D-AIUY, a brand new sharklet A320 delivered to Lufthansa at 13th September 2016. The aircraft also adopted the new cabin design with 32 rows. At the back we can see a Lufthansa A321, D-AIRY, operated as LH0178 to Hamburg, departed one hour prior to my flight.

Boarding commenced at 18:09pm. My seat, 26F.

Cabin during boarding. It was nearly full loading and I had a man sitting next to me. He kept chatting with two ladies sitting in front of us for the whole flight. The most annoying thing was that most of the time he leaned his body towards me so that he can talked through the gap between two seats….

Pushback started at 18:31pm and the cabin light was dimmed. According to the announcement, flight time was expected to be 55 mins. Before takeoff, our plane had to be deiced which was carried out next to RWY 08L. The process took 5 mins and we took off at 18:51. 5 mins later the seatbelt sign was off and cabin crew distributed the snack in no time. Before the drink service run, I decided to visit the toilet. There are two lavatories at the back of the plane. I took the one in the middle next to the galley. Well, as you can see, the toilet was really small.

Inside Lufthansa magazine, there was a page explaining the function of different sensors in A350.

I got my apple juice soon after I back from the lavatory. I read my novel for the rest of the flight. As this was an evening flight, there wan't any scenery visible to me so I didn't take any photo out of the window during the flight. Seatbelt sign was on again at 17:30 and minutes after that there was an announcement informing that we were descending into Hamburg airport.

We landed on RWY 05 at 19:44pm. The most surprising thing was that we parked at a remote stand which was very rare in Hamburg airport for flights arriving from Munich or Frankfurt. This is due to the renewal of the main apron which is taking place since 2016. We were then bused to the terminal.

Thanks for the report! It makes me wonder why the neighbour didn’t bother to book seats together with those who he was talking to.
