Hello,
After a great holiday it was time to fly back home.
Boarding to our Lufthansa A380 was from the J gates of Miami Airport.
However the gate area did not allow good views of our aircraft so here is a quick shot from the food plaza between J and H gates.
Boarding started on time but was very chaotic. In theory there were several lines for Priority, different row numbers etc.
However the gate area was too small and very crowded. So you could not see which lane is which.
I think Lufthansa definitely has to improve here and make better organized lanes separated better apart from each other.
However I made it on the plane and was greeted by a friendly Lufthansa crew.
Premium Economy cabin was full and I took my comfortable window seat.
In my opinion Lufthansa offers a very good Premium Economy seat which defintely makes a huge difference to general Economy cabin.
This Airbus A 380 also featured nice camera views icluding this tail one.
The crew distributed a pre departure drink of mango juice or water. I had the juice which tasted very nice.
Afterwards they distributed the menu for this flight of 8 hours 30 minutes.
We had a very smooth and quiet departure and some excellent views of Miami Downtown, cruise harbour and South Beach.
Service started with a snack mix and an aperitif - Campari Orange for me.
Afterwards hot towels were distributed before the main meal service started.
I selected the chicken main dish. Everything was served on real porcelain dishes and also the bread was served warm from a basket.
Everything tasted very good.
The crew made several rounds of drinks including refills for water and wine - a nice touch.
I finished my meal with a cup of tea and some Baileys.
1 hour 30 minutes before landing a warm breakfast including omelette was served.
At this time we were cruising south of Great Britain and sunrise could be followed via the tail camera.
The crew finished the service with another hot towel and some peppermint bonbons distributed during descend.
Soon we landed at Frankfurt ahead of scheduled arrival time and parked at Terminal 1 Z gates area.
Nice report on LH's Premium Economy product. It looks pretty nice and the food looks much better than what is served in LH Y.

I remember watching a program a few years ago about MIA and part of the specific episode I saw was about how they turn-around Lufthansa's A380 service from FRA. It was definitely interesting, but I can't remember which program this was on now.
Thank you for sharing!
Glad to read you're flight was enjoyable. I read a lot of comments about how boarding is chaotic in certain flights. Gate personnel is provided by a contractor to the airline. If the purser doesn't spend the time with those agents to explain the particular protocol for the aircraft type and carrier the agents cannot possibly remember since the contractor shuffles them as needed.
Thanks for this FR.
Was there an amenity kit provided in Y+ ?
The meals look okay, the appetizer could be more elaborate though.
Thanks for your nice Feedback.
There also was a nice amenity kit waiting at every seat. It was of nice Design of company Picard and contained tooth brush, socks, eye shades, wet refreshing towel and ear plugs.
