Hello,
This is my first FR. I have enjoyed reading about so many of your experiences on the ground in airports and lounges or aboard aircrafts all over the world that I thought I would start reporting on my own travels. The reports will be written in french or in english. I am not sure if the protocol is to make them all bilingual, I can certainly try.
I used aeroplan miles for PNH-BKK-LHR-YOW. Here is what my itinerary looked like:
TG585 PNH-BKK 5/15/2017 (A330-300, Business, this report)
TG910 BKK-LHR 5/16/2017 (A380-800, First, Report here)
AC889 LHR-YOW 5/16/2017 (767-300ER, Business, no flight report)
I took a few days off at the end of work related trip to visit Siem Reap and the surrounding area. The trip from PNH-REP-PNH was on board Angkor Air. Excellent service and what appeared to be renovated interiors on both the A320 and the ATR72. Although they advertised the option of a business class, there was no obvious differences in the seat arrangements that I could notice as I boarded the plane.
K6 (Angkor Air) 7111 PNH-REP 5/11/2017 (A320, Economy, no flight report but a few pictures in this report)
K6 (Angkor Air) 108 REP-PNH 5/14/2017 (ATR72, Economy, no flight report but one picture in this report)
PNH-REP on board the A320; views of Phnom Penh, the country side and rice paddies as we approached Siem Reap.
REP-PNH approaching the ATR72
After one excellent last night a the King Grand Boutique Hotel in Phnom Penh, I was on my way back home.
After a fairly long wait a the J/F counter in PHN, I breezed through security and accessed the Plaza Premium Lounge. Spacious, clean and quiet; bartender service. Very nice experience.
I boarded the A330-300 that would take me to BKK on time. Only two additional passengers in the cabin. Confortable angle lie flat seats.
Visiting the restrooms
Flight map; I did not test the entertainment system.
A quick bite to eat; pork salad as a starter, chicken curry as a main dish and a mango flan for dessert. Although the service was very enjoyable, the food was not.
Approaching BKK with lightnings and thunder
On the ground at BKK, with a view of the aircraft I suspected would take me to LHR
