Months before finalizing my holidays in The Philippines, I had already thought of inserting a quick getaway to Boracay (an island in the Philippines constantly voted as one of the best beaches in the world). I had this planned a long time ago and was just been able to make the plan into reality this year, 2017.
PR (Philippine Airlines) flies daily from Mactan Cebu International Airport to Kalibo International Airport. There are 2 airports in Boracay - one is Caticlan which is very near (5 minute drive to pier + 10 minute boat ride to Boracay) to Boracay and the other one is Kalibo which is not that near (1.5 hour drive to pier + 10 minute boat ride to Boracay). I took the latter. PR had very good deals at the time I checked hence I did not at all hesitate to book it.
My flight was originally to depart at 1900H however was changed to 1800H and finally, at 1945H. It was not a biggie for me though.
Prior to going to the airport, I had a quick lunch with friends over Burger Steak Rice Meal (very popular in The Philippines for only about US$2 per meal with a drink :)) as well some seafood and BBQ.

And since there was a McDonald's nearby, decided to grab a cup of coffee before heading to the airport.

Took a cab to the airport for about PHP150 (US$3) and the journey was about 30 minutes.
Flights to Cagayan De Oro city (CGY), Davao city (DVO) and KLO (Boracay) are all in one lane. There were not much guests lining up so check - in was a breeze and fast. The check - in agent was very friendly and chatty too.

This was how empty the check - in hall that time.

Just in front of the check - in counters were a souvenir shop, coffee shop and the likes…

The Boarding Pass. PR allowed me to select seats free of charge so it was kind of them. I took a window seat, 38A

At this time, at the gate, I was already bored but a bit excited to go to Boracay. :)

Finally boarded, and thank God, it was on time. Here is a cabin shot as well as outside views. Vanilla Air is set to go back to Tokyo.

No other services offered during this flight except for a cupcake and a water. Did not even bother to take a photo of them, sorry.
After about 30 minutes of flying, landed into Kalibo International Airport.
Took a minivan to the pier for about PHP200 or about US$4 per person per way. And another PHP100 or US$2 for the boat fare.

The following morning, I did explore the island paradise, it was so beautiful.

Did have a quick coffee break in of the many coffee shops lining along the beach.

Divers ready to go… :)

Took some lunch and chill for a bit.

This sunset was priceless..
