Hi Guys,

today we're off to Istanbul… which is my 11th visit. The flight report is up on youtube

Well after checking in, I visited the Regus Lounge just outisde the arrivals. It was the shittest lounge I've visited. The only drinks that were complimentary were coffee or tea, if you wanted coca cola you had to pay. :P That was a shit lounge…. do not visit it.

The premium security in Gatwick is shit as well, the premium security is worse than Heathrows standard security. This was my first visit at Gatwick and it was surely my last (unless i find a good deal)

Our Plane is TC-JNJ which is named after the beautiful city of Cappadocia

Gatwick has some pretty weird aircrafts. Air transat A310… something i've never seen. Also, the seats on this plane are pretty bad for tall people like me. I'm 6ft1 and its pretty bad, the IFE box and the foot rest take up quite a lot of space

This was my 3rd flight on an a330-300, many say that the a333 has a great power during take off, but not really, the 737-800 has a better kick and power during take off. the take off was great, and we were out of the clouds just a few seconds after take off.

This plane also has Live TV, and WI-FI. Nice to see these features on a plane, the W-FI however was not available, but the Live TV aspect is pretty cool and shows 7 shows (i believe)

Now this is what pisses me off. We were served food at 12PM GMT, and we receive breakfast. Back then when i used to fly with BA to Istanbul, we received lunch at 8AM GMT. TK up your game!!!!

Landing in istanbul, luckily there were no holdings.

Love seeing aircrafts that flew me to other places… this is a turkish airlines A321 TC-JMM which took me to Istanbul from Rome

Passport control was a joke. They have many stalls but only operate like 5. This is a joke. I cannot wait for the new Istanbul airport. This picture also commemorates those who died in the Istanbul terror attack :(

Conclusion

Turkish Airlines is an amazing airline, but I understand why they are a 4 star airline. THY used to offer things no other airline used to do. On short haul flights they offered Lokum (Turkish delight) and handed out a menu. These things have faded away. They still offer great things, but need to bring those type of things again. The price for tickets are cheap, and they possibly have one of the best meals on board.
