Due to my work I had to go to London Southend Airport for the week. But as direct flights from Amsterdam to London Southend were quite full and expensive, I decided to fly with BA CityFlyer from Rotterdam to London City and take a train from there.
Arriving at Rotterdam The Haque Airport by public transport (which you can easily reach by underground and/or bus from The Haque and Rotterdam Central Station), I went straight to check-in to drop off my luggage. It was quickly done as there was literally no waiting line. Security had a bit of a line and most people at that time I arrived were not 100% familiar with the full procedure, so it took a bit of time to get through. Unfortunately Rotterdam The Haque Airport is currently under construction behind security, so there was not much to do. Only one bar and one shop available, but wifi is working fast and for free too and plenty of seating area.
The flight is performed by an Embraer E170STD of BA CityFlyer who is capable of holding approximately 80 passengers.
Boarding was efficient and fast as we were only with approx. 30 passengers on this plane to London. Seats were comfortable and spacious, however the BA Magazine and Safety Card could have been replaced as it was in a very bad state like the picture below you shows.
On-time departure with a take off from Runway 24, which was pretty much a straight flight to the final of London City. Flight was smooth, flight attendants were very friendly, although food&beverages were very limited for a carrier like British Airways. Pilots did their best to inform us as much as possible about weather, approaches and departures.
Once landed in London City with a not so smooth landing, we were quickly to gate in which we could deplane pretty quickly too with a short walk to customs and baggage drop off. Customs was done in like a minute as there was nobody waiting (although in peak times, this may be a real pain in the ass) and my luggage did appear in like 5 minutes, so I could walk out and head straight for the trains to reach my final destination.
