My first easyJet flight in a good 2 years!
Flying from London Gatwick to Luxembourg for £40 return. Good value given its right at the beginning of the Easter break.
I wanted to visit Luxembourg as it is one of the few west-European countries I hadn't visited also it was quite easy to fit into my work pattern.
BA & Luxair were to expensive and were over £100 more than humble easyJet, the hotel for 1 night was only £45 extra on top. Making my visit only £85.
So I got to London Gatwick with two & a half hours to spare, and quickly made my way to the North Terminal, a place I rarely fly from to begin with!
After clearing security and grabbing a hot dog I made my way to my gate passing over the legendary LGW Bridge. Seeing some nice views & photo opportunities.
Getting to the gate area on the other side which was dominated by easyJet Airbus A319 & A320, I got a few pictures of planes touching down & taxiing around,
By luck I got a special livery for my flight. G-EZEZ the "I <3 Napoli" Airbus A319.
Another big bonus was the fact I would be doing an open board!
Getting on the plane and settling in to Row 6, Seat A, I began getting some images & film for my Reviews,
Unfortunately/Fortunately (depending how you look at it) I was greeted again by the older seating in the easyJet A319, I am still hoping to get an A320 with new seating soon!
We had a full load, but we pushed back on time and after a good 20 minute wait we were bolting down the runway & departed into the sky for our short trip to LUX.
We got to our cruising altitude of 20,000ft and the crew began a very short but hasty service. I opted for a £7 meal deal, combining the Calazone, Pringles & Cola drink.
I had just finished the meal, gone back to the loo and got my cabin shot when the captain announced the flight would be descending and we would be getting to Luxembourg in 20 minutes.
Had to quickly dash back to my seat!
We didn't have any waiting time as it is a very quiet airport and we landed sharply on time! We only took 10 minutes to vacate the runway & park up on stand.
I left the aircraft via a short visit to the flight deck, the crew mentioned their next stop after Luxembourg would be Nice Cote A'zur.
And once I passed passport control (which didn't take that long) and passed the baggage collection I was in Luxembourg!
My first stop was a restaurant with a HUGE WINDOW and great viewing opportunities! Had a meal & few drinks whilst watching the action over a good 2-3 hours!
