Well this is it………

After three years and 11 flights across London, Madrid, Stockholm, Amsterdam and Edinburgh…. Its finally time to call it a day….

British Airways Boeing 767-336(ER). My final flight on them. LHR-EDI on September 12th 2018.

I did two back to back trips to AMS & EDI with the 767 (with a pair of A320 to get me back to LHR) and I upgraded my LHR-EDI 767 flight to business class, just to send off the 767!
A video from my BA428 flight on September 11th on G-BNWZ.

I got to LHR just after 5am, so the lounge would be open for business! I thought it would be nice to finally try it out!

The lounge had a shower on offer, so that was my first priority. Love a lounge shower before a flight!

Following that I had some of the food and drink offered in the lounge, including mini bacon rolls, hash brown, tea… Vodka & OJ I managed to get! Then followed shamelessly with a Cola and Gentlemen Jacks whiskey…… It was free and on offer, I couldn't resist temptation!!!
I got to my gate to find that my last 767 would be operated by G-BZHA, making this the second 767 I've flown three times, jointly with G-BNWZ (who I flew the previous day)…

Nice to enjoy the luxurious BA 767 premium seats one final time! The A320s are a let down in that sense!

Getting the flight underway, we were off on time for departure.

The hilarious "Comic Relief" video hadn't gone stale despite all the times I've seen it recently.

Cruising on the 85 minute journey, the flight attendants gave the business class pax all a hot towel, which was a refreshing touch!

The best bit for me came when the breakfast was delivered, the BA Hot Breakfast! All included: Bacon, Sausage, Eggs, Mushroom and tomato! I had missed this since they stopped doing them in Economy Class back in Jan 2017!

One bit that annoyed me is the screens been off the entire flight once the safety video was over, come on guys- put the bleeding map on!
The breakfast was sided off with a bread roll (with jam and butter), fruit bowl, glass of orange juice and a choice of tea or coffee.

After finishing the meal, a cinnamon roll was offered, which I failed to turn down! No regrets!!!
LHR-EDI is a very short flight for a wide-body aircraft, and with in little time, we had made it up to Southern Scotland and were descending towards the Capitals airport.

We went out over the North Sea to line up with the airport and we came straight in! Landing effectively on time.

We parked off the taxiway for a good 30 minutes whilst we waited for another plane to vacate room for us at the BA Gates. I wasn't complaining as I could sit back and enjoy the comfy BA seats that were retiring with the 767 and to enjoy a little bit more time on the 767….. you can tell I am a serious 767 fan!!!

Getting to the gate, and with 300+ people eager to leave the plane- I made my way to the flight deck for one final set of snaps!

Had a quick talk with the pilots about the 767 and her final days at BA…

But alas I had to get off the plane (Pity I couldn't stay on!) but at least I had a day in Edinburgh awaiting me!

But first I had some spotting to do!!!

Thanks for this FR.
This flight was definitely worth the upgrade to celebrate.
Really good breakfast indeed and nice to see BA bringing a tradition back.
I wonder what plane will replace the 767 for trunk routes.
It was a great send off, for me personally. Wish BA would allow you to buy the breakfast in economy before the flight- even just £10-£15 I would totally do it!
Hey Jett Tyler, thanks for sharing this special report! So sad that the 767s are now retired. It was sad to see the 757s go as well, but at least some hung on for a while at OpenSkies, but now that's gone too. Yeah, these old seats are definitely much more cushy than the new Club Europe, but the 2-2-2 J configuration has always been a bit problematic for BA considering that you get an empty seat next to you on any other aircraft, but only when in the middle on a 767. And 76s are the best in Y with the 2-3-2 layout--shame to see them go.
Thanks for sharing!
It's been a pleasure riding them around Europe!
Delta Airlines and Icelandair have nice 767s and I still plan to fly them when I can. But the BA ones will always be my personal favourite!
Keep an eye out as posting a review of the American Airlines 757 & 767 here next Spring!
Thanks for sharing this special flight with us Jett Tyler. Your report was a joy to read. The 767 is one of the aircraft I have spnet the most time aboard so it's special to me as well. The BA seats look very plush, it's a shame I never got the chance to fly her in BA kit. Happy flying.
Thank you! This was my 11th and final BA 767 ride, have done 2 flights on top of these with Icelandair & Delta. Got an AA 767 flight coming very soon!
Sad that BA no longer flies the 767 - I remember flying on one with them from MAN-JFK back in the early 1990's. Looks like you had a great flight, and that breakfast looks good as well too.
Its a shame, was one of my favourite planes and the first trip I did abroad on my own was on one.
