This report covers the third leg of the trip, from Singapore to Hong Kong.
Check-out of my hotel at 11am and had my breakfast at some local eateries. Usually I don't have splurge meals on my travel except business trips (Nobody would say no if your company is going to pay?)
A must-try for a Singapore trip, kaya toast. Usually serves with half-boiled eggs but I skipped it because it would be very filling.

The scheduled departure time of my flight is 18:00, so I still got a half day to kill. But you know Singapore is so hot throughout the year, and I don't really want to stay outdoor before my flight. Instead of taking MRT, I had two bus rides to Changi so that I could kill time while enjoying the nice views of this amazing garden city!

I thought that dummy is a real human being?

Security measures are very strict in Changi Airport, security guards will board the bus to check any suspicious items before the bus entering EACH terminal.
Arrived Changi T2 at 1:40pm

Although the bus would stop directly at T4, but it was still too early and I'd like to do some shopping first. My family requested Bee Cheng Hiang's bakkwa (Chinese style jerky) for their souvenir. With Changi Rewards Card, any shopping in Changi Airport no matter on the landside or airside can enjoy tax free. Points also accumulated into the card and can be converted to SQ KrisFlyer miles. (Of course don't expect you can get much)
There is a piece of wonderful artwork in T2, a clock consisting of 504 smaller clocks.

Here's the video (not taken by me)
Again, heading to T4 requires a shuttle bus ride from T2. Buses arrive every few minute so it's not a really big hassle at all.

I really love Changi T4. Sorry for my limited English that I don't have enough words to express how amazing and wonderful it is. I'll just let the pictures say.

Check-in counters look like bar tables more than a counter. Interesting design!

Sometimes CX does allow passengers to rebook to an earlier flight at counter. I still got 4 hours and wonder if that possible for me. I asked but the answer is NO. Never mind, just enjoy the brand new CX SIN T4 Lounge?

Passport control is nearly fully automated. Just scan your passport and boarding pass, and that is. No queue at security check. Everything was smooth just within a few minute. Time to take a look on the airside. Again, once you entered the T4 airside you can't get out or go to T1/T2/T3 as they are not connected.
The color tune and mat flooring used in Changi Airport makes me feel warm. Just wonder how much effort they put to clean the mat lol

Spacious and plenty of natural sunlight just like an indoor garden. I wonder if those trees are real one or just decoration…

Both Cathay Pacific Lounge and Plaza Premium Lounge are located on the mezzanine floor. Food court is also on the same floor.

Cathay Pacific Lounge
Here we come to the brand new Cathay Pacific Lounge @ SIN T4

Once stepped in is the Noodle Bar. Seems the signature dandan noodle was not available here, but on the other hand, the famous Singapore dishes - Laksa and Hainan Chicken Rice are provided!

I ordered a plate of chicken rice and a chicken bun. To be honest, the taste didn't on par with local hawker centers, but you can't complain at all as the recipe of authentic chicken rice is really challenging!

Buffet area, alcohol and sitting area are located at the back of the Noodle Bar. Food selection was limited, ranging from what you expected so I don't write long about it.

Like the champagne glass crafted with Cathay's logo

Relax yourself in the sitting area with plenty of charging ports

Cozy washroom, I know a bit weird to describe a washroom with 'cozy', but it was the only word came up in my mind?. Just a reminder, this lounge doesn't come with shower room. If you want to take a shower, the Plaza Premium at the next door maybe the right place.

Had one more Laksa before heading to the gate. The laksa was so good!

There are a lot of Japanese retro game machines, kids and adults both seem enjoyed playing while waiting for their flight. Changi T4 just make you feel so relaxed like you're inside a clubhouse, rather than a hustle-bustle international airport!

I'd say Changi T4 is the best terminal I have ever visited. Of course the other three terminals are wonderful too, you can just name one or few highlights such as the butterfly garden. But my favorite still goes to T4. Just one thing to bare in mind, unlike T1, T2 and T3, the airside of T4 is not connected with the others. Also the departure and arrival area of T4 are separated. In other words, you can't go to T1, T2 and T3 once you entered T4 airside. Transit between T4 and T1/2/3 would not be as smooth as you used to. At the present T4 is used by Cathay Pacific, some Skyteam carriers and LCCs. Unless you have an itinerary like [CX + QF] transit in Singapore, it's unlikely that you'll encounter any troubles.

Flight CX716 from Singapore to Hong Kong.

The aircraft used was Airbus A350-1000 again, with tail number B-LXD. The terminal design is not so good for plane spotting…

Stuck myself into the seat, a window seat on the right hand side 62K

The flight takes off from Singapore in a light rain, a bit bumpy

In-flight meal, I opted for the seafood conchiglie (shell pasta) with green tea soba. Again it was OK, nothing to write home about.

Seems haagen-dazs ice cream is always provided on Cathay Pacific now (except short-haul flights to Taiwan or Manilla, I don't know).

After the meal, I watched an old Hong Kong's TV drama on the IFE. Soon we're approaching Hong Kong.

Touch down at 9:34pm, an uneventful but comfortable flight thanks to the brand new A350-1000 aircraft.
Hong Kong Airport, vibrant as usual.

Thank you for sharing this excellent report Toyion.
The new T4 Cathay Pacific lounge looks every bit as lovely as The Pier or renovated BKK lounge.
"Seems the signature dandan noodles was not available here, but on the other hand, the famous Singapore dishes - Laksa and Hainan Chicken Rice are provided!"
-This seems like a fair trade off to me. It's very thoughtful to feature local cuisine in the lounge and those dishes are synonymous with Singapore. Sorry the chicken rice wan't up to par but glad the Laksa is.
"The flight was uneventful, but Changi T4 is definitely the highlight of this trip, rather than the flights itself. "
-Indeed T4 looks great. I'm looking forward to visit for a CX flight.
Thanks again for sharing and happy flying.
Hi Socalnow, thank you for your comment! Yes, CX lounge in SIN implemented the same renovation as HKG and BKK. However shower facilities are really necessary for lounge in Changi, especially before a red-eye flight because Singapore weather is so hot.
Thanks for sharing this FR
"A must-try for a Singapore trip, kaya toast"
If you have a sweet tooth ;)
I prefer a laksa for my breakfast.
"Points also accumulated into the card and can be converted to SQ KrisFlyer miles"
Thanks for the tip.
You are building your next SQ First Class flight. ;)
Cozy lounge.
The noodle bar is great but the buffet offer is really poor.
"Had one more Laksa before heading to the gate. The laksa was so good!"
Oh lucky you !!!
"Transit between T4 and T1/2/3 would not be as smooth as you used to"
It's a bit weird.
"In-flight meal, I opted for the seafood conchiglie (shell pasta) with green tea soba.Again it was OK, nothing to write home about."
Not worth a laksa ! but still edible.
Thanks for the bonus.
Please could you give me few good eateries addresses in Hong Kong
See you soon for your return flight to Japan
Thanks for your comment Lagentsecret!
We couldn't blame that because I understand Changi is still expanding, the fifth terminal is going to be built soon!
I suggest street food in Yuen Long district, located at the northwestern corner of Hong Kong. Easily accessible by bus or train.
Thank you for stopping by!
