Took a Bluebird taxi to the airport and reached the airport slightly less than 2hrs before STD. I counted SQ had 10 check-in counters opened for the flight and all were totally empty. The check-in agent said that most passengers had already checked in. Wow, that is early!
The departure security boarding pass check is now automated. Scan your boarding pass and you are through to security and immigration.
Lounge invite to the Premier Lounge was handed out during check-in.
The lounge was used by most airlines, and also accessible by Priority Pass and other card holders. The lounge was rather busy, but we managed to find a quiet corner.
Buffet selection was alright, nothing fanciful. There is also a pasta station.
I only had some pastries for refreshments, preferring to have the meal onboard.
View of the departure hall from the lounge.
Nearing boarding time, we headed to our aircraft at Gate 4.
There were already queues awaiting for boarding to commence.

Singapore Airlines
SQ 947
Denpasar Bali (DPS) - Singapore (SIN)
A330-300
9V-SSA
Business Class
Flight Time: 2H15M
Boarding commenced and headed down the jetbridge.
Same aircraft type, same regional seats with pillows and blankets, and also with a brown amenity pouch on each seat.
Tonight's load in Business was 25/30. Rather full flight for a Christmas evening. Hot towels and welcome beverages were offered, and I went for the champagne as usual.
Inflight magazines and IFE selection were same as the previous flight. Contents of the amenity kit as displayed.
Slightly more than 2hr flight to SIN.
Qantas A332 parked beside. Doors were closed on schedule and pushed back.
Safety video played while we taxied for departure.
Takeoff from Rwy27.
Decided to watch a Hong Kong comedy movie.
Dinner service commenced. Service was pretty good and of the usual SQ standards.
Dinner menu
Unlike the previous flight, mains were served together on the meal tray along with the starter and dessert. I had pre-ordered the Indonesian braised beef with coconut rice.
Starter and dessert.
The garlic bread catered out from Bali was very good! By far the best garlic bread I had on a SQ flight. Crew also offered seconds.
Scallop and green mango salad was tangy and refreshing.
The main was delicious as well! Tender and flavourful beef along with moist rice and crunchy beans. Very authentic Indonesian dish and well-prepared.
The ginger chocolate cake dessert was forgettable.
My friend chose the White snapper, which was delicious as well.
After a bout of pretty bumpy turbulence, I ordered a Jasmine tea.
Obligatory lavatory and cabin shots.
Rest of the flight was spent watching the movie and we were soon descending into Singapore.
Landing into Rwy02L slightly ahead of schedule.
Parked at Terminal 3 gate A20.
Disembarked and a shot of the aircraft from the terminal.
Thanks for reading this brief report and comments are welcomed.
Thanks for sharing this quick report of this Christmas Mirac… errr…. Flight.
The airport in Bali is quite attractive, and the lounge looks adequate for a contract lounge.
The SQ regional business class seats are aging, but I still hold a soft spot for them in my heart.
What champagne was Singapore offering in regional J, do you recall?
Catering certainly looks up to SQ’s usual high standards. Both the starter and the entree look very appetizing and sound even better. And better garlic bread ex-DPS than ex-SIN? Hmmmm…
I love the little Christmas decorations in the cabin. A very nice touch.
