EK 772 Dubai to Cape Town
My longest Emirates Flight from Dubai until now. Schedule flight duration 9h 50m.
I booked a Open Jaw Flight from my homeland Germany. A total of 4 flight segments.
Economy special rate with 20kg baggage.
HAM > DXB > CPT > DXB > FRA
With my special rate I used the Online Check In for seat reservation and get the economy seat 47 A. Aircraft Type Boeing 777-300ER Aircraft ID A6-ECH. Departure Time 03:50 from Dubai International Airport Terminal 3.
Very dark so I show you a Picture of the seat 39 K from my return flight.

Default amenities, pillow, blanket and headphone. Before takeoff the crew hand out the Menu Card. Short after takeoff they hand out the EXPO 2020 amenity kit. A special Economy Class amenity kit on long haul and selected flights, including toothbrush, toothpaste, eye shade, socks and ear plugs.
2h free WIFI or 20mb and the Inflight Entertainment ICE are a great thing for economy class.

After the first round of beverages they hand out the light bite. A lamb or vegetable bunny chow, a specialty of the south African kitchen.

A Self-Service Kiosk in the galley.

Arrival time 11:35 but not without breakfast. Classic omelette or Spanish frittata with fresh fruits and Croissant. My choose the omelette.

Hello Densch, Thank you for sharing you first report here with us!
It's great that EK offer 2h of free wifi
Though I find your 10/10 rating for cabin a bit generous considering the tight 3-4-3 configuration on the 77W, I agree with you that the quality of the meals, IFE, and amenity kit do make for a premium experience for Economy.
Looking forward to future reports, hopefully with more photos ?
Welcome to Flight-Report
I personally find that 9 for meals a bit too high too as EK used to serve two proper meals on board their flights that barely took 6 hours.... Apparently all UAE carriers are reducing it in economy for what I've seen.
@Denesch, welcome to FR. Yes, it's great that EK gives us free wifi for 2 hours or the equivalent of 20 mb, but in theory it is barely usable as 20mb is done within a few minutes.
doobie-doobie
Hi, the breakfast looks good but the meal service in general, for a flight lasting almost 10 hours, seems poor with just one hot meal and a snack. That's not what we are used to flying the Gulf airlines :) Congrats on your first report! Try to post more pictures next time.
