Hello and welcome to the last trip report in a series of four detailing my November 2018 escapade to Budapest! The previous trip reports can be found here, here and here respectively.
No sections for this trip-report as it'll be shorter than usual, sorry!
Having arrived from my previous flight from Budapest, I traversed the dark and claustrophobic hallways of FRA in no time and made my way to my gate for today, B10:
The gate area had a small cafe; while they did sell Mezzo Mix I decided to go with Pepsi's alternative: Schwip Schwap! While most Germans loathe it in favour of Mezzo Mix or Spezi, I quite enjoyed it and wouldn't mind drinking it again.
With little time to do anything else until boarding I decided to do a little planespotting from the gate. Let's start with this LH A321, D-AIRX (Weimar), which up until 2015 was carrying a retro livery.
Then there's this TK A321 heading to sunnier (albeit sadly closed) climates:
And here's D-AISB - Hameln.
21-year-old "Tübingen" (D-AILP), our plane for today, parks up at the gate @ 3:50pm, and ten minutes later, we begin boarding:
No window seat this time, sadly, which means I'll have to pester the kid next to me to take pictures outside…
Looks like there's wifi on this old plane:
Rain starts to pour as we begin our pushback:
Take-off:
While most passengers fall fast asleep right after take off, I take the time to read some Reddit:
Sandwiches are served at 5pm. I opt for the tried and tested chicken and veggies sandwich one last time (along with a glass (?) of orange juice).
Otherwise not much happens in the remaining half hour before descent and landing. A quick bathroom trip reveals… well… that it's clean. You get the point.
As we descend into BIO, we get to enjoy this lovely sunset:
We land at around 6:10pm, parking right next to a Cityline Embraer heading to MUC:
Bye Tübingen! For a 21-year.old plane you're looking great, both inside and out!
And after picking up my luggage..
…I'm off to catch the bus back to San Sebastian.
Thanks for reading!
Coke + Fanta???? Sounds weird. :P
Jajajajaj.
XD Pero "a plastic of orange juice" sonaría peor!! Siempre me pregunté cómo se podría decir "un vaso de vidrio" hasta que en un FR alguien puso "a real glass". Aún así, los vasos de papel en que se sirve el café siguen siendo "coffee CUP"!! Alguen entiende a estos gringos????
Thanks for sharing!! :)
Sabe mejor que lo que parece ;)
No parecia que tuviese ganas, lol
No lo llegue a probar, pero si, dice mucho del servicio que presta LH
That's English to you!
¡De nada!
Hola Vasconium, thanks for sharing this last report in the series!
Every time I see a pic of those LH short-haul seats I cringe because they look so thin and uncomfortable, but I guess it seems from your report they weren't too bad. Plus any free food on a 2h flight anymore is a luxury there days.
Gracias por compartir y hasta la proxima!
To be fair, the seats were very plush on the top, but I guess it'd get ridiculously uncomfortable on those flights to SVO, for example. Definitely appreciate the (dry) sandwiches though.
¡De nada!
