After a very nice holiday I checked in quickly. Due to my Lufthansa Gold status I was also allowed to use the Business Class counter on this Edelweiss Air flight as it was in cooperation with Swiss.
Once airside I spent some time spotting several nice holiday planes from around Europe until boarding started.
Boarding started on time and I took my window seat behind the wing. The seat was comfortable and had some nice features like tablet holder etc. Seat pitch was also still ok. The only strange thing was that the cabin was way too warm until we pushed back. It was like there was no air condition running at all.
We started taxiing and left Gran Canaria for our medium haul flight across Europe that would take ca. 3 hours 50 minutes today.
Edelweiss Air offers some reasonable entertainment streaming via app on your personal device.
The cabin crew on this Edelweiss flight again was very friendly and inflight service started very relaxed ca. 45 minutes after take off with an aperitif service first. A very nice touch that added some longhaulf flight feeling.
About 30 minutes later the lunch box was served.
The box had a clever design and contained a cold starter and a dessert. Separately some warm pizza snack was served. More free drinks (excluding alcohol) were offered with the meal. The whole meal tasted very good for such an Economy medium haul lunch.
It was also amzing that proper cutlery was used.
As the trash was cleared away more drinks and coffee or tea were offered.
Once the flight came to an end the typical Edelweiss Air farewell Biberli (sweet) snack was offered from a basket.
We started descend into acloudy Zurich area and landed on time.
