Hi,
Eurowings check in area at Terminal 1 was very empty when I dropped my bag with a rather unfriendly agent at the priority desk (Miles & More Senator Gold members can use this counter even if travelling Economy Class).

Security was very quickly and soon I was airside. Many shops, bars and restaurants are still closed due to Covid and the terminal has a rather deserted and sad feeling airside nowadays. Luckily the Lufthansa Senator Lounge has reopend. I took the elevator upstairs and reached the lounge at the end of a dull corridor.

Once inside you could really feel that this lounge would need some revamp soon - it felt worn and outdated in many parts.

The good side is that if offers a private outside terrace providing great views on the apron.

The toilet also feels outdated any bad compared to hub lounges at Munich or Frankfurt.

There was a small buffet offering some cold salads, snacks and one choice of dessert. The only warm food option was a Minestrone soup. All food is self service - drinks however can only be ordered from the service staff at the buffet area.

I only had a soup and some dessert before leaving this rather boring Lounge soon again.

Reaching the gate our Eurowings A320 had just arrived with a delay. Consequently boarding started ca. 30 minutes delayed without any excuses.

Once boarding started, it was a simple mess - no priority or queuing system was in place at all. A very bad start to an even worse flight.
At the door small disinfection towels were provided - smaller and cheaper quality than on mother Lufthansa.

When I reached my window seat somebody was already sitting there by mistake. This let to a lot of discussions until she finally moved into her middle seat in another row. The flight ended up totally full with every seat taken.

The seat itself looked rather dirty, sticky and unappealing with all the advertising.

We started pushback soon for a flight of 1 hour and powered into grey cloudy skies.

I had a look at the very worn Bistro & Shop magazine.

Surprisingly Eurowings still publishs inflight magazines in those Covid times - even if Lufthansa legacy carriers stopped that for health & probably most likely cost cutting measures.

Originally I planned to order a cup of tea and some small snack when the Bistro trolley would reach me. However the flight was so packed and just behind me a very rude kid was screaming, pushing against my seat for the whole flight. His parents did not care at all even if other passengers including me complained. So I decided this flight would not get any better and I was not in the moood for some more drinks etc. I simply hoped the flight would pass by as quickly as possible and listened to some music enjoying the evening sun.

Luckily we started our descend soon and landed with a delay of more than 30 minutes - without any apologies at all.

One last view out of the window before leaving this very bad flight.
