As part of my job, I have been travelling to Bordeaux a lot of times in the past year, up to a weekly basis at some point. This was the first time I experienced a "regular" flying experience, where even some crew member might recognise and greet me!
I know this is just a small domestic flight, and it is hard to make it interesting but I'll try my best!
This time I was lucky to see this reproduction of a Russian Galleon that was docked near the Place de la Bourse…
Flying blue Miles earned with this flight: 930
Status earned: 2 XP
Air France doubling the XP status in 2020: 2 additional XP
Fortunately, my job let us choose the airline we want to fly with, and so as a Flying blue frequent flyer I did not choose the orange plane over Air France..
As all of the Air France Hop flights; you can't choose your seat at booking, regardless of your Skyteam membership status. I am still not sure why the E190/170 and CRJ700/1000 fleet is the exception…
However you can during check-in, which I did, based on the cabin map provided:
I arrived with our super star of taxi, and went through security really fast:
- during covid times there was barely anyone at the airport at 6pm during a weekday
- I was travelling light as usual, with just my cabin suitcase.
Going through security at BOD at terminal B is always super fast, it is a narrow corridor just behind the AF checkin counters; and on the boarding zone there are just a few shops and a large waiting area.
Aircraft: Embraer E190STD
Engines: 2x CFM34
Age: 13 Years
Observation: With the old Air France Hop livery
We were called to board on time; with the Skypriority respected, premium passengers were called first.
I do apoligise for the quality of the picture, I have not found a nice trick when it is rainy.
The crew was really professional and gave us a warm welcome, followed by the usual announce by the captain thanking us for flying wtih Air France; which is always a nice thought.
And ready for take off…
getting rid of this rain drops!
Service was complimentary as it is the rule on AF, but drastically reduced to a hot or cold drink: tea/coffee or juices.
As usual, and since my first flights on Alitalia, I always have my black coffee with an additional glass of water!
Since the first lock down, Air France stopped printing its magazine, and so it is digitally that you can discover it; it is available on the Air France play app.
I love when airlines do give us some details about their fleets:
We landed and parked at the U gates;U is for domestic and S international.
View from the very busy Hop pier…
AF: a nice flight overall. Crew was really professional and caring. Even though the E190 are correct, I prefer the "sausages" CRJs....
LYS: airport very efficient and fluid as usual.
BOD: airport efficient too but needs to be refurbished.
