Welcome to those return legs of my Christmas trip to Bordeaux. Recap of the routing.

I arrive in hall B close to 2 hours before departure. There are many people waiting in the Economy line but the Sky Priority lane is very short. However check-in is very slow with lot of checks to perform.

Direction hall A to board the KLM flight. The priority lane at security is empty, the regular one as well.

The lounge is located just right of the immigration control. It is hard to find when you don't know the way.

I was welcome by a ground staff who's probably British as he was available to speak in an accent free English with non-speaking passengers. He was also very efficient and dynamic. Good point.

The lounge is actually pretty nice and all wiped of wight furniture.

They are different sitting areas with lounges, desks, tables. Another good point.

photo img_2580photo img_2581

The complete offer is now on self-service which was not the case one month ago.

You have a nice view on the main runway and all 5 parked ex-Norwegian B787-9 stored here.

photo img_2586

The breakfast offer was still available.

photo img_2587photo img_2588photo img_2589

The tableware though needs a replacement.

photo img_2590

The machine a cleaning urgently!!!

photo img_2591

This lounge is one of the few one in France to still distribute bottles of water. I was not hungry, so made so reserve for the day and the next months^^

photo img_2592photo img_2593

Immigration was empty when I left for boarding. My aircraft was already waiting us.,

photo img_2594

The seating area is sufficient for an Embraer 190.

photo img_2595

Boarding was called by zone with Priority. The way to the aircraft is not the best as we have to climb the stairs again to get into the jet bridge.

photo img_2597photo img_2598

Priority means waiting in line to bord - thanks but prefer the fairness of Ryanair naming it pre-boarding ;)

photo img_2599

Legroom is good.

photo img_2601photo img_2602

Our flight has been actually downgraded to an E175. You see it on these very hard seats.

Leaving our gate and passing MIAMI :))

photo img_2608photo img_2609photo img_2610

There is also an (ex) Etihad A340

Start direction South West and U-turn to the right to head back to the North.

Nice view of the airport with 2 active runways N/S or E/W. Just one is used depending on the wind direction. Most of the time this is the main N/S runway which is used as today.

The merge of the Dordogne (left) into the Garonne (right)

Service came shortly after. Both flight attendants serve first the Business section and after go both to the Economy section. As always on this longer flights there is a sandwich with a drink choice (s).

photo img_2624

Cheese on offer today, this is my favorite one.

photo img_2625

Rest of the flight was uneventful. Amsterdam surroundings were much more cloudy than Bordeaux though.

Landing in front of the Cargo center.

We parked at gate B, there is no jet bridge, you have to step out of the airplane and then climb again stairs to get into the terminal. Not very user friendly.

Heading now to the lounge for waiting until my next and last leg.

Conclusion

KLM: Cabin is not as comfy as in the E190. The rest is fine and even benchmark in Eco EU in my opinion.
BOD was empty today. However I don't find this airport very convenient.
AMS with long walking time between the concourses.
Lounge in BOD is just fine. The offer is limited though.

Ok now I see why you don't like BOD. It seems very poorly laid out and looks to get messy and confusing if it starts to get crowded. The AF lounge looks nice though.

You see.. ;) The lounge is not the AF lounge, it's the airport lounge and is fully okay. There is an AF lounge in Hall B, nicely decorated but currently still cloased IIRC and with a poor offer.
