Hi FR, this is a small report on my return trip from Mauritius, last March.
I didn't report the outward journey as we flew with MK… once again on the aircraft named Parakeet . For those who don't know who she is, look at this reporthttp://flight-report.com/fr/report-1634.html, on a flight one year ago : It was exactly the same aircraft and therefore the same flight.

For now, we're boarding late in the evening @Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam airport. The tiny waiting room is crowded.
You may notice that this is a free wifi area.

The skypriority line was respected as far as I remember. As I prefer to board at the end, I noticed a long line for coach and a quite small one for Skyp.

Our flying carpet, Her Majesty Flying Vessel F-GZNO, who was less than a year old. A brand new one, configured for COI stations, high density coach class with 422 seats. Tonight, the flight was full in C, W and a few seats available in Y.

How lucky I am, my son and I got 3 seats for 2. My wife and my daughter were seated to rows more in the front.

My son shows you the security notice. Front and back. Thank you dear.

Now the size of the IFE. Hard to realize with a tiny hand,

photo IMG_20130317_183419

and I never travel with a taylor's tape (hello Marathon !) so let's compare with my left hand.

Good conditions to watch a crapy movie (Sorry Omar and Laurent, but De l'autre côté du périf' won't run for Caesar best movie ever)

Here's also the pitch, excellent when you're six yo. I forgot to picture my own legroom.

I fortunatly had been given 2 blankets : the regular one and the new one, made out polar fleece. I definitly prefer the polar one.

Boarding is over, we're gone !

While my son tries all the video games at his disposal,

photo IMG_20130317_190506photo IMG_20130317_190511

let me introduce you this IFE and a feature hardly described in this web site : the chatroom.
First, the screen. Average size, quite good quality. The touchable screen reacts quickly, I only had to double touch an icon once or twice.
The remote control, face up with the most used buttons.

photo IMG_20130317_190540

The side, if you have the crazy idea to make a call and empty your e-wallet at the same time.

photo IMG_20130317_190546

Face down, introducing a Qwerty keyboard and 4 buttons to play.

photo IMG_20130317_190559

A keyboard ? but why ?
Because on this IFE, you are able to chat with your single used friend, who may be seated right beside you or at he opposite side of the aircraft.
I created a chatroom named Flight-report.com and started to type. Some people joined.

photo IMG_20130317_191911

Then I joined a general chatroom and talked about FR.

photo IMG_20130317_192423photo IMG_20130317_192959

I then joined again FR room from my kid's IFE : holly crap, the chatroom text zone was empty !

photo IMG_20130317_191917

All that you type before John Doe enters the room, John Doe won't see it…. and as a chatroom is never joined by more than 5 to 6 persons (well, on my flight), this technology is nonsense.
Disapointed, I #ragequit and had a diner.

Tasty, except the starter.
Hail to the master !

Then my son fell asleep,

I went to the loo, which has a nice led surrended mirror and a dark dot amplifier.

A last glance at the cabin viewed from the rear, and we arrived in CDG.

Short FR for a regular trip without special mention.

Conclusion

A long flight but thank to the IFE, not so hard to support. Lot of movies and music for everyone.
The cabin was full and the FAs were very busy, but my FA had a gentle word for us and the passengers on our side.
Departure and arrival on time as far as I remember.

20min waiting line in CDG for passports control. PARAFE crowded. Impossible for me with 2 kids.
