As I said in my introduction, the only option to get back to Paris on late evening is Lufthansa which is perfectly fine for me as I prefer their European catering concept, furthermore this flight was scheduled to be on “32A” or “Airbus A320-200 Sharklets” and I was really looking forward to my first flight on a Sharklets fitted Airbus.

I am definitely not a fan of FRA, long corridor, low ceiling, at least it’s clean

Most of the European flights are leaving from gates A, which is the case for my flight with A17 assigned.

The famous coffee/tea machines are LH signature at their hub, this is a great idea but most of them were unserviceable with no cup nor tea bag.

Our flight is now ready for boarding, with roughly 70% LF

AND IT TURNED OUT THAT LH DID AN AIRCRAFT CHANGE!!! I ended up with one of their oldest A320-200, registered D-AIQA, msn 172, first flight in 1991…

FAIL!

I was really pissed at that time, I know aircraft type are not guaranteed, and especially aircraft subtype with the same cabin configuration but still I was expecting to have a fancy new aircraft with this distinguishable sharklets! Well I guess I will have to wait, it will arrive sooner or later anyway.

Then it’s a pretty uneventful flight with quiet business friendly pax,
Service is quite good with this generously filled sandwich and the famous whole sized Warsteiner beer!

Conclusion

It has been a pleasure sharing with you guys these Flight-Reports, I really enjoyed this 3 legs journey in one day. I was happy and relieved to fly with LAN 787, I also had my first flight with a 737 Sky Interior (from Air Europa) which was a nice bonus, but LH failed to deliver what they promised: the Sharkleted Airbus!!!
