The counters of the other airlines were already open, even when their flights were departing later than TU flight

Finally the TU counters opened but there was already a long queue when I arrived

A lot of people had an impressive bunch of luggage and it took a long time before I reached the counter
Some people were trying to give their luggage to others to avoid the payment of expensive excess baggage
I asked the agent to have my reserved seat 1D but he told me that it wasn't available any more !(I would understand why later when boading)
Anyway we chatted friendly together(I should be the only one not having excess baggage !) and he told me that he blocked the seats next to me
My BP wasn't a TK's so no fast track, anyway the immigration was a breeze

At 22:40 I headed to the gate as required

The planned delay was 1 hour

Few hand luggages were waiting for the aircraft

But of course it wasn't here yet

Spotting was hard but I was able to catch this Uzbekistan bird

Finally the aircraft arrived at 23:07

It was TS-IMI, an old A320, first flight on 23/12/1994

The luggages were loaded and it took quite a long time

At 23:44 the boarding began and I was one of the first to enter the cabin

The legroom was decent in the third row because it can be turned into a business seat

Seatback stuff

The seats had adjustable headrests

The two seats next to me stayed free but the flight was almost full
The first two rows were reserved for TU Family & Friends

The windows was dirty : no hope to have an outside picture

Late take off at 00:15
After take off a tray with a hot dish is handed

I like the TU logo

The flight was uneventful
Almost everybody was tired and was drowsing
Landing at 02:20 : I ran to the immigration to be one of the first
I was outside the airport about 15 minutes after landing
How long did you take to drive from SWA to IST? Did you use some public transportation?
An uneventful TU flight : decent meal and undecent delay ;)
Thanks for sharing that Around the World series.
Yes I used public transportation from SAW to IST and it was an experience : first you have to take a bus E11 then the metrobus and to end, the subway.
Metrobus map at the bus stop was not updated and I was waiting for a cancelled route bus.
Only young people are speaking english and it's not that easy (at least for me) to pronounce correctly the Turkish names or locations
It's thé same if you are looking for a street : most of the time there is no street name !
Thanks for this FR.
TU and puncutality really don't seem to be friends...
What do you mean exactly by the the TU family&friends?
It might be one of the last opportunities to fly them as they are reported to be nearing bankruptcy.
The first two rows were reserved for TU employees, their family and their friends
