Introduction


This trip report is from March 2018. I was travelling to Mumbai for a short trip. I would be transiting through Bangkok.


Arriving at Airport


As I was going for a short trip. Planned to drive to airport. Paid parking charges through web. Cost was nearly as much as catching a taxi.

Check-IN


Arrived at check on time. Queue formed for check-in. Baggage allowance was 30Kg for economy class. I was well below the limit. Passport and visa was checked. Got boarding pass. Was informed about the gate number and closing time.

iMMIGRATION AND sECURITY


Immigration was busy and through Smartgate.  Short queue had formed, passenger ahead had difficulty in getting passport read was directed towards immigration staff.

Joined security queue after completing immigration. Got everything to reduce time wastage.


Meal Time


Still had time for boarding. Had some food before boarding flight.

Crew waited at the door and welcome passengers. I was seated in the 2nd last row.

Reached seat and got organised for departure.

While waiting for boarding to complete, watched Air India to Delhi pushback  followed by Qantas occupying gate. Watch video.

After taxi, held short of runway for incoming Qantas Boeing 737-800. See view to enjoy departure. and city view.

Soon after lunch, cabin was darkened for resting. Rested for few hours.

Refreshment was served about 2 hrs before arrival.

Rest of the journey was smooth. Captain announced descent.

After exiting aircraft checked the flight information for the next flight. I had to charge my phone and found a charging point. Spent remainder of time seated while phone was getting charged.

Conclusion

Thai Airways provided good onboard service. Departure and arrival was on-time. Food was good. I didn't watch any entertainment as I wanted to rest.
Sydney Airport was busy as I was early didn't have any issues. Bangkok Airport was OK for short transit. Overall a satisfactory trip.
