introduction
Hola amigos!
This FR covers the second part of a trip from Madrid to Paris via Lisbon, it picks up where I left in this FR:
Flight routing
- 1
After arriving to LISBON and to the lounge
So, after arriving to LIS from MAD, we were bussed into the terminal, and there was quite a mess. Signaling was a bit messy…but I managed to make my way to the TAP Lounge, one of the two lounges available. I could have gone to the other one too, but since I could only enter the TAP Lounge on this flight, I didn't want to miss that chance.

Once inside, the place was fairly packed. But I managed to score a nice spot by the window with views to the tarmac. I had a long layover, but there is nothing that a good G&T and plane spotting can't handle.

There was a central bar, a proper bar, with bartender and all…and he made me this generous and delicious G&T. I couldn't ask for more.
The food offering was okay. Nothing extraordinary nor tempting. I wasn't too hungry (I expected something substantial on the flight….WRONG). I grabed some bites (but I didn't take any pics)

Some light reading too (this was 2019, and back then they were alredy saying the economy was to tank)

I wonder what's the deal with this…

Boarding
So, my time to board came up. I left the nice lounge to my gate.
My first impression of LIS was that it was like a modern shopping mall, that happened to have gates. So the shopping area was quite decent.
But the airport area…is quite dingy

To my dismay..we were to be bussed again. Priorities were not respected, not that it mattered as we were all going to the same bus.

We made it to an Aigle Azur A320 that TP had leased…(now this is interesting, specially since Aigle Azur had gone belly up around that time).
Only two rows of Biz were available for this flight. Pitch was more than good for our flight. Other than that, nothing extraordinary.

On our WAy to paris
Boarding took its time and once that was done, we were on our way.

Lufty sent an A346 that day…it must have been a Glorious thing to see over the city

We made it to RWY03 and made it straight to Paris. This afforded great views of the Vasco da Gama bridge.

enroute to paris
I found it reasonable that we wouldn't have a very "intense" service between MAD and LIS, considering the short flight time. Now I expected something more substantial on this longer flight. WRONG.
The crew just showed up to deliver us our meal, which was quite mediocre if you compare to the shorter MAD-LIS flight.

I had some white wine, I ate my stuff…and that was it. No refills or anything.
With no IFE, I was left with some nice views of France.

The best part were the views reaching Paris…I managed to see Eurodisney (unknowingly I would go there a couple of days after :)

Our flight concluded as the day was wrapping up. I felt so privileged with these views…

We made it to RWY 24 (if Im not wrong) and taxied to a gate in Terminal 1.

I picked my bag, something that took its time, rendering the whole "priority" bag tag useless.
And then I had a bit of a confusion trying to make it to the OrlyBus stop…but I made it to Paris for my summer gettaway :)
Hola Chibcha, thanks for sharing!
Almost 3 years later LIS is still a mess, maybe even moreso during this summer of "revenge travel"! I was there last weekend and it was like the entire population of Europe was trying to fit inside that small terminal. The arrivals experience was absolutely horrifying...other than that, I love Lisbon and Portugal in general, but LIS is just not equipped to handle the crazy amount of traffic they have this summer.
I felt the same about the ANA lounge next door, though I believe it's a bit bigger
Yikes, that's surprising! I've had hot meals in J on similar MAD-ORY on IB, and even much shorter MAD-TLS...that's a shame!
