Let's move now to the travel back home Stuttgart from nice Bordeaux in South West France.
As for the way there the return legs will be on Air France.

Bordeaux airport is under renovation. The hall B is still used for checkin of Air France, KLM and easyJet flights but all departures happen in the hall A which is much larger.
However with this summer trafic this is not sufficient as you can see shortly before boarding of the previous flight to Paris CDG. The complete hall A is like this, made for 50-seat jets that were used in the 90's. The floor is disgusting and the bathrooms… even worse. I had never seen that in an airport, not even in developing countries.

The hall A has an airport lounge and as usual Air France and KLM grant access to it for both Business and Skyteam Elite Plus passengers. Nice gesture. This lounge has nothing special, the offer is even pretty poor but compared to the public area it remains much appreciated. Today I arrived just before my flight (which departed even before the delayed other flight) and didn't visit that lounge knowing that I had time anyway in CDG for my connection to STR.
Boarding was done in the wing that sees normally the Volotea jets park there. It is a terminal on ground floor level with embarking directly by walk to a staircase attached to the aircraft. The process was a bit chaotic as you could not really access to the desk when called in that overcrowded area.

The door of our A319 that will probably leave the fleet pretty soon to be replaced by a A220.

The pitch is limited on board. No difference in the front and in the back of the cabine. The seats are very comfy though. Overall very similar to what BA offers but at least they have the front seats with 1-2 inches more space.

Soon we were on the main north/south runway which still has a lot of ex. Norwegian B787 standing on the ground. Also the Beluga was here today. BOD is a significant maintenance hub with many cabin modifications happening here when done in France.

Some views airborne.

The Ocean is not far away. About 20-30 miles west from Bordeaux. Also the "bassin" - Arcachon creak is even closer.

The Garonne and the Dordogne come together north of Bordeaux just before the Atlantic. The color looks the same as for the Mississippi ^^

Nuclear power plant of the Blayais with 4 reactors of 900MW (well when they indeed work…)

Ile d'Oleron

My headset was fully discharged so decided to use the entertainment on offer.

You have access to a flight path which do not update live on your screen

or to a few games. Otherwise nothing else.
A message pass is for free and works with Messenger, WhattsApp, iMessage. But no Snap, no Twitter, no Instagram and no images in general.

The soils are so dry this summer.

AA and others in Paris.

The two south runways are parallel so you need to wait before crossing the other one.

We arrived on time and had not to wait for the jet bridge to arrive.
