Hi,
Transferring from Europe I directly headed to one of the Cathay Pacific lounges - I decided for 'The Deck'. The entrance looks nice and promising.

I was not disappointed - the Lounge has a nice and stylish decor and offers many different kinds of seating options including some balcony kind of setting proving great apron and terminal views.

The food and drink choice is nice and I enjoyed some nice Asian food.

My choice:

Also I decided to have a shower which was not issue: There was no queue at all and the shower room was nice and clean and provided all necessary items for a refreshing break.

Some nice apron views while heading to the gate.

Hongkong airport unfortunately still feels like one of the last airports still in covid mode: Most shops and restaurants were still shut down and the terminal has some kind of ghost town feeling in many areas. Hopefully this will change soon.
I approached my gate where boarding would soon start in a very organized way with different queues and priority boarding fully respected.

Some views of my aircraft bound for Australia.

A friendly crew welcomed me onboard and I took my nice and comfortable window seat.

Views are great and a menu was already placed on the seat side table.

Also an amenity kit and a bottle of water were already there - similar to comfy mattress, blanket, pillow and slippers.

I was offered a welcome drink soon where I decided to go for a glass of champagne. Compared to my flight from Europe no hot towels were distributed on the ground and also none during the whole trip airborne which is what surprised me somehow.

The crew started to take drink and meal orders on the ground but only finished taking mine once airborne.
We pushed back on time and soon headed towards our runway.

And off we go climbing out of the exciting Hongkong surroundings.

The flight was announced to take ca. 8 hours 15 minutes and service started with some aperitif first. I had a Negroni with some nuts.

Quiet atmosphere:

This was soon followed by the starter tray where I had an amazing tasting soup.

The soup started was announced on the menu to come with a small side salad. This was somehow missing on my tray but the crew were happy to quickly serve it to me once I verified with them.

Warm bread was also served along with the starter.
Next was the main course where I had a Chinese style pork belly which was really tasty as well.

Finishing off with some cheese, dessert and a nice chocolate.

This was an extremely tasty lunch and well presented.
I watched some movies and relaxed for the rest of the flight.
About 2 hours out of Melbourne somewhere over Australia a light dinner followed. There was a choice of main course between a burger and Asian style noodles with prawns which I had - they were really tasty as well.

Sunset was great to watch while we passed Australia.

We landed on time and parked next to a Thai Airbus.
