Hi,
After a great holiday on beatiful tropical island of Mauritius my home journey started with a quick check in at the priority counters of Turkish Airlines.

Turkish Airlines Business Class customers can use the Air Mauritius Lounge.

The lounge has modern and airy feeling on the top floor and provides many different seating options.

Also the food and drink offer is quite extensive, however presented in a medium nice way.

As a long night flight was about to come with dinner service on board, I just had some drinks including a tasty Mauritian vanilla flavor rum.

Boarding started extremely early one hour before departure.

A friendly cabon crew welcomed me on board and I took my nice and comfortable window seat.

There are definitely much more modern Business Class products those days and the seats lacked any privacy. Still for me and my travel companion it was very comfortable and the seats also convert into a full flat bed.

Already on the seats were a small thin blanket, pillow and a nice shoe bag with slippers.

A selection of non alcoholic welcome drinks were offered and I had a very tasty orange juice.

Cabin crew distributed nice amenity kits.

Followed by nice noice cancelling headsets.

Next the menu and wine list were offered.

Wine list:

Main course choices were teaken before we pushed back and I opted for the beef.
We left the gate 20 minutes early and passed some other longhaul planes getting ready for their overnight flights.

We powered into dark skies and started the long journey to Istanbul.
First hot towels were offered on nice small trays.

Inflight drink service started with some tasty warm nuts and aperitif where I ordered Gin Tonic.

Soon tables were very nicely dressed up includign a very cute candlelight dinner atmosphere.

The friendly crew offered several starters and soup from a nicely presented buffet style trolley.

Everything tasted great.

Next the main course was served - it was ok, unfortunately the meat was very dry and rather hard.

Dessert was also served nicely buffet style and I picked some tasty bread pudding and chocolate ice cream.

Meal finished with a cup of coffee and a Cognac.
During the movie I also ordered a nice cup of tea.

After some hours of sleep breakfast was served in two courses - starters first and then the tasty warm dish of omelette.

Before descend another round of hot towels.

Touching down at already busy Istanbul mega airport very early in the morning.

I've always wanted to go to Mauritius (and the Seychelles as well). Glad you enjoyed it!
Yes, the cabin is definitely outdated, but well maintained and still comfortable as you say. People tend to travel with others on Holiday routes like this, so this configuration is appropriate for these kinds of flights as you can easily have conversations with your travel companions.
As usual, TK catering looks fantastic and does not disappoint, which makes up a lot for the outdated hard product.
Thanks for sharing!
